Basically I hired this company to do a roof damage repair and in doing so I dealt directly with the owner - Todd. Before starting to do the repairs, I asked him for the "Grand Total" and he quoted me a price of $7,137.33, but after the repairs were completed he told me I owed him $8,500.00. He also quoted my wife the same original price, so her and I discussed it with him when he came to pick up the check that I had already made out for the "Grand Total" he'd quoted me. This "Grand Total" was based on 6,287.33 for the roof repair and 850.00 for gutter guards. Todd argued that the extra was based on some kind of 50/50 split he'd done with the money my insurance company had reimbursed me for and a roof upgrade. Mind you, this was never discussed when I asked him for the "Grand Total" before he started the job. He apologized for the so called lack of clarity on his part, but the bottom line is that I was charged $1,362.67 more than what he originally quoted me as the "Grand Total". If I had known this before he started the job, I would have shopped around for a more affordable company (i.E. - my neighbors had the same repairs done at a substantially less amount).
