We had our 2005 Grand Caravan in for repair that was covered by our extended warranty. Upon taking the van Village Dodge contacted our Service Contract Holder (who has done many transactions with the Village Dodge Co.) and got the okay. The next day we called to see if everything was alright and they said it was. We called to pick up our van 2 days later and were told we owed $720. We said we had the insurance.
They said if we wanted to pick up the car we would have to bring in our credit card to insure that the service company would pay. 1) they never told us in advance that this was their new policy 2) the never quoted us an extimate on the repairs 3) they never told us about repairing a tie-rod and ERG valve before they made repairs. They simply held our car hostage for 4 days until the service contract people sent them their money for the repairs.
This extended service company has done business with them numerous times. Many of those times have been on our vehicle and we had never been asked to give them our credit card...!!!
