On August 4, I ordered 2 outdoor lights from LightingUniverse.com and these were received in a timely fashion. However, they were also received broken. I called immediately and expected that replacements would be shipped.instead I was told that replacement glass would be shipped in 7 to 10 days.
About a week later I received an email telling me that the replacement glass would be shipped on November 4 — considerably longer than 7 to 10 days. I was not willing to wait that long. Following their return instructions I requested a Return Goods Authorization number on 8/25/09. On 8/26/09, i was given a case number and told I would be contacted in 1 to 2 days.
When I had not been contacted by 9/1/09 I called and was told to call back on 9/8/09.By the way you can wait 15 to 20 minutes on the phone before someone answers your call.
On 9/8/09, I called and was told that a RGA # had been requested on 9/4/09 — a good 10 to 11 days after I had asked for one. I was told to call back again in a few days and maybe they would have the RGA number then.
I have spent almost a month trying to get credit for broken lights that were sent to me. This should have been handled the first time I called by sending me replacement lights that were well packaged and allowing me to return the broken lights at no cost to me. I had requested credit not because I didn't like the lights or changed my mind; I requested credit because the lights I received were broken and I could not use them.
I say buy your lights from anyone but Lighting Universe.
