We went into DR Horton's model homes in Florence (Villas at Magic Ranch). Damon Sanabria, salesman, showed us a nice spec home ready to move into. We put in a purchase contract based on the fact that Damon telling me that we were qualified for an FHA loan. We explained that we had some credit issues in the near past and wanted to make sure we definately qualified for the loan before we gave our landloard notice.
We were assurred and re-assured several times by Damon and the Mortgage Company (Core Mortgage Group of Scottsdale, AZ) that he chose for me, over and over that I was good to go and I had mortgage approval. He said they were doing 30-day escrows and my loan should close towards the end of 4.
Well that month came and went and still no closing date. We had to move out of our rental home, due to giving our landlord the proper 30-day notice based on what DR Horton told us. We were homeless for 2 weeks (living in and out of hotels) waiting to get a closing date. Finally, on the friday of Memorial Day weekend, we got the bomb dropped on us.
Core Mtg. Said the lender they outsourced my loan file to denied the loan and if I wanted the house, I would have to come up with 20% down instead of the 3.5% FHA agreement. We were forced to move into a rental home last minute that Friday afternoon and we lost thousands of dollars thanks to DR Horton and Core Mortgage Group. Now we want to buy another house (which I qualify for!!!) and I am stuck in a one-year lease.
I want DR Horton and Core Mortgage to reimburse us for the almost $10,000.00 that we lost due to their incompetence and mistakes. They can also pay our landlord the remainer of the lease agreement when we close on our new home later this year!!!
Do not trust either of these companies. They lied to me and they will do the same to you unless you are very careful. They saw me coming and figured they had another sucker!!!
