Budget Remodeling Aka James Jackson Basement Finish, Unfulfilled Contract, Stole Final Payment, Lied and Left job site in peril, Shoddy Craftsmanship

Summary
Overall, my contract was not fulfilled and plus he left damage I had to fix. He lied and deceived multiple times to get money early and the final payment was taken without my permission. The job was supposed to take 2 weeks and he took over 7 weeks to get about half way done before he lied and left.

Time Period
The contract specified activities to finish a basement. The contract specified a start date which was fulfilled (He required a down payment). Do not under any circumstances give this man any money up front) Verbally he agreed to a two week timeframe to finish the contract and every day over two weeks would be $100 off my bill. I agreed and signed the contract. Ample time, 7 weeks, had been given to complete the contract plus no penalty had been assessed. He contracted too many jobs and had over 12 different people show at my house over the 7 week timeperiod.

Money
Three money installments, which were changed multiple times for his convenience, were agreed to be paid. The last agreed upon final payment was to be paid when the job was complete. I agreed to give him half of the final payment because he needed money for materials. Naively I agreed and gave him the check to cash and bring half back. Once the check was deposited in his account, I never received the half I agreed to in violation of his verbal contract nor the labor to finish the job. I also never received the $1000 of material that he said the money was going toward.

Work Ethics
The worksight was also left in peril. My carpet was destroyed, he left tile cement on the floor where he installed the tile crooked and had to pull it up, trash left everywhere, drywall dust and mud caked everywhere, walls were unsquare, drywall damage, electrical hidden in wall, ducts hidden in ceiling, Bathroom faucet hot and cold backwards, sump pump buried behind wall, etc.

He agreed to do these things and never finished:
Install Bathroom Tile
Install Sink and Toilet
Clean Carpet (very soiled)
clean Worksight
Fix used Rusted wavy Ceiling Grid
Fix Drywall damage
Paint final coat of paint
Bathroom not painted
Install Bathroom fixtures
Buy and Install Handrail
Buy and Install Stair casing
Return Final payment
Buy and install 3 Doors not installed or framed
Buy and install Door handles
Fix Vent duct buried/hidden in bedroom ceiling
