On September 24 my wife and I decided to purchase our first home furniture from Roomsto Go in Bradenton, Fl store after checking out all the furniture stores in Manatee and Tampa area believing that Rooms To Go is the best and the most reputable place to furnish our house with. The $5000 value furniture we bought included: a king size bedroom, a living room and a dining table set.
We wanted to buy something that would last for at least 5 years. Knowing that Rooms To Go is more expensive than other stores, we thought spending more money now on something that would last longer is better that losing our money on something that will be ruined after a couple of months.
And now, after only six months, our sofa and loveseat are not the same as we bought them, they squeak, and the cochins are thinner and it feels like we're setting on the wood underneath.
We called that costumer service and took an appointment for a technician to come and see what's wrong with them on Tuesday, April 14. The technician's name was David. He came and sat on the sofa and said, there's nothing wrong with it, and he turned it up side down and said, nothing is broken or loose. And when we told him that if we knew that the furniture from Rooms To Go wont last for at lease 2 to 3 years we wouldn't have bought from your store. He said: I don't know where you'll find furniture that would last more that 2 years (WITH AN ATTIUTDE). And told us that the warranty wont cover what has been already used!!! And that the protetion is only for the stains that cant be cleaned!!! He even told us. If you wanned a top of the line product you should've asked for it... And that its not the salesman fault that he didnt tell us that the peice we chose wasnt the best they got. He just wanna do the sale!!! And that he himself used to be a salesman before being a technician and used to do the same... Honestly, I cant believe an employee that interacts with costumers; especially newlyweds with no kids that most likely in 2 years will be in need for more furniture; would say such things. And all he did was adding a thin white sponge to one of the cochins and ignored the rest. He made me regret ever coming to RTG and not want to go ever again, and even tell all the people I know my story with rooms to go and the bad furniture and even worse service. I called the costumer service once again to make another appointmet with a different tech. A lady came put the rest of the thin white sponge to the rest of the coushins telling us that she cant do anything else...
My wife has a degree in Marketing, and all she thought about is, don't they know what retaining costumes is harder than bringing new costumes in. Don't they know that costumer satisfaction is more important that the deal itself.
The warranty on furniture from you store is valid for one year as it states on the back of the receipt. And please know that my wife and I are barely home, we work more that 10 hours a day, and we don't have any kids and don't have a lot of friends to come over. So we barely use the sofa and loveseat.
Please find me a solution.
