I have known this guy, Kaimi, for years. He thinks of himself as the consumate salesman. He tells you he is the world's best salesman. The reality is that he is a bullshit artist who isn't smart enough to keep his lies straight and out of conflict with each other.
He begged me to do some windows for the offices inside our new manufacturing facility. I am talking just two windows that were fairly good size. The windows had to be tempered to meet code and one of the windows had to be one way glass. We hired him and paid for the glass in December. December 10 to be exact.
Prior to our being able to move in we had to have an inspection, of course, and given the authority to occupy the building. We had orders piling up that we had to get produced and shipped. The only thing we were waiting on was the windows.
We called Kaimi every week from the first week in January through March. Nothing. It was one excuse after another. He kept telling us that his glass manufacturer screwed up. Then it was his workers who build the windows. He said they didn't show up. This went on daily for three months. It actually took just over three months to get two freaking windows.
Then when I went to pick them up, one of them was wrong. The one that needed to be a one way window or privacy, wasn't. It was just a regular window. He was supposed to deliver, but couldn't or wouldn't. That is why I had to go pick it up. I was beyond pissed.
He delyed our manufacturing process and we nearly lost several clients as a result of his excuses. I have watched him do this for years. He will always blame someone else. He will never deliver on time.
He did the same thing to a contractor, Mark Miller, in Park City, Utah. Kaimi was supposed to have windows to this guy to finish a house in October because the guy had to get it sold. He advanced Kaimi about $40k to get the job done. Kaimi didn't deliver on time of course and Mark told me that he tried and tried and tried to get Kaimi to communicate and tell him what was going on, but Kaimi wouldn't even call back. Mark told me that he had been getting the same excuses from Kaimi.
What I know is that Kaimi bought some equipment to manufacture windows but had no clue as to how to use the equipment. He told me this. So he kept trying make the windows but couldn't figure it out. Some 3 months later he figured it out and finally delivered the windows. Unfortunately, Mark had to have lost thousands of dollars waiting for the windows.
Mark told me that Kaimi did nothing but give him the run around, lies and then wouldn't call back, email or anything.
I have heard the same story from my graphic artist. He said that Kaimi had him do a bunch of artwork for his website and other things and he said that Kaimi stiffed him as well. All Kaimi would do is give him excuses for not paying.
