We met MRI at a property exhibition, and went to see Cape Verde, where we were well looked after and eagerly put a deposit on an off-plan apartment.
We paid 56000 up front and later on 14000 for a furniture package. We now discover that the development will never be finished, and is just a giant building site with little international access and no possibility of renting. MRI contacted us to meet them, and convinced us that they were going to rescue us and help us get our money back by transferring it to an apartment in Bulgaria. They said that was our only chance and we foolishly parted with a 6000 deposit. We had second thoughts almost immediately, and asked for our deposit back, but were told that the contract was already being prepared. We are now completely broke and annoyed with ourselves for being so gullible and trusting. Having read a lot of similar accounts on this website, we would like to join the support group, if someone will send us contact details. Strength in numbers is our only hope.
