Plumbing Service Co. Hord Plumbing, Owner Matt Hord Lied about being certified to work on wells, being insured and standing behind work. We are out $5K and have to abandon our well, hook to city water. Poor business practices

Matt Hord, Owner of Plumbing Service Co and DBA Hord Plumbing, falsely advertises that he is licensed, insured, bonded, a member of the BBB and one of the services he provides is Well Pumps.

Matt is not licensed or certified to work on a well at even the lowest level D. He told us he was certified to work on wells - that he changed about 30 pumps a week. We had hired his company two weeks before because our water was not consistantly working.in mid April, we were told it was due to a faulty bladder tank ($775). Ten days later, same problem returned. This time, Matt diagnosed that it was probably the well pump all along. Said he would charge us $300 for a new well pump and we would have water by the end of the day.

Sent an inexperienced helper to remove the old well pump, turned the main breakers off and on repeatedly, broke our A/C ($742) and ended up dropping 1/2 well cover into our well, jamming it and making it impossible for the new pump to be lowered into well. Had to hire a certified well contractor to come out, after Matt lied for second time that he had a well contractor license Level D. Simmons Well shows up to remove the well cover and Matt finally admits he is not certified or licensed.

Meanwhile, the minute Matt broke the seal on my well and not being certified, he did not know that there is a new law in NC that saws when a well seal is broken, you have to legally bring the well 12" above grade, add vents and caulking and to bring to code, a liner must be added. So the $300 fix to address his original $775 debacle has turned into one where we need to make the decision to drill a new well or to connect to city water. Either way we have to pay $2K to abandon old well. All this time, Matt said he would open a claim or pay it out of pocket since this was his fault but the minute he left our property, he has denied having anything to do with this and he refused to open a claim on our behalf.
