Ripoff - I will have to have $300 worth of work that isn't covered by the AHS warranty for something I suspect was caused by AHS. Carrol IA

I have had problems with AHS. Recently I had a problem with my garbage disposal. This is one they had replaced at the beginning of the contract. All of a sudden, they cannot fix the garbage disposal because the pipes leading up to it were not installed properly.

They are the only ones who have worked on the garbage disposal or the kitchen sink. I have argued with the customer relations/service several times over this issue and have been told it is not their problem and I should have my contract memorized of what is covered and what isn't covered.

I have pasted a copy of the email I sent to Ms. Pieper, whose email address I got from a report on
usacomplaints. Coms.com. I don't think she will do any better than the others I have spoken with.

Copy of the email:

Ms. Pieper

I found your email address on usacomplaints. Coms.com. I am hoping you provide better customer service than the people I have been dealing with at the company.

I have had a warranty on my house for approximately 3 years. I recently had another problem with my garbage disposal. I placed a call in January regarding the disposal backing up and leaking. The company was sent out to "fix" the problem. The problem was not fixed.

Another call was placed to AHS. Again the company came out to "fix" the problem. The tech that came out said that the backing up was because of the way the system was designed. This was told to my boyfriend who was home at the time. The tech then left.

A few days ago, April 17th, I placed another call to AHS regarding the garbage disposal backing up and that the company that was out there didn't fix the problem. I was informed that I would have to pay another service fee for something a tech that was sent to my house by AHS screwed up nor fixed. I did get the rep to reduce the fee to half.

The second tech came out and told my boyfriend that the reason the garbage disposal was backing up was that the pipes were incorrect and he couldn't touch it. The tech then took the part under the sink that would give access to all the pipes off and left it. It was not reattached. When he was presented with the check for the amount that was agreed upon, he laughed. When my boyfriend asked if the sink could be snaked so it could be used, the tech refused to do so.

One thing I find ironic about this is that right after I originally had the contract, the garbage disposal was replaced by AHS and it was not discovered then that the pipes were incorrect. It makes me wonder if the pipes being incorrect were the result of the tech (dispatched by AHS) that replaced the garbage disposal.

I have not had any improvements or work done to the garbage disposal or sink since moving in. Now, I will have to have about $300 worth of work that is not covered by the warranty by AHS for something I suspect as stated was caused by AHS.

I spoke several times with AHS customer service and have gotten no customer satisfaction. On the contract that I received, it states customer satisfaction is very important to AHS and a money back guarantee if the customer is not satisfied with the work. I have expressed this several times to the customer service people I have dealt with. Their response is basically they don't care and I should have my contract memorized as to what is and isn't covered. This isn't the first time I have had this from the customer service reps.

From this, it does not show that customer satisfaction is not important to AHS and just the money that is received from the "warranties" that are provided.

Due to the recent and past problems I have had with AHS, I have no choice but to cancel my contract. I have informed AHS of this on April 22 via mail and April 24th via fax. I was to receive a response to my request within 48 hours. To date, April 29, I have not received a response via mail or phone.

I will be posting a copy of this on usacomplaints. Coms.com so others will know what type of customer satisfaction is provided by AHS, the way AHS and/or their techs can choose not to cover items that should be with the warranty, and the lack of response that is given by AHS to their customers.
