I worked for Tri-State Basement Systems for almost 2 years. I was hired as a salaried employee. The company had a record year doing almost 4 million in sales in 2008. The owner BLEW all the years earnings on his personal drinking habits and outragous Stupid spending.
It started to come unglued when I watched him in Las Vegas spend thousands of dollars buying PERSONAL items and billing it all to the company. This is a common practice for him. He spent so much money that in the first few months of debt collectors were calling and he started to STIFF everyone. How do you have a "Record Year" and be Flat broke 3 months later??? The IRS prohibits business owners from using company money to take vacations. Stuff your face every day... Buy personal items and charge it to the company... Where were the income taxes paid?
All the salespeople quit. I was told I had to go on the road selling using MY leased car. The owner, Scott Anderson, gave me no choice. I went to customers houses and sold jobs for this fat guy who did NOTHING but sit in his office everyday looking at PORN and listening to RUSH LIMBAUGH. (YES HE'S A RIGHT WING RADICAL!) Customers were calling in with problems and he would not send a person to their house to fix it because the company had no money. These customers started to call my house demanding their "Basement Waterproofing" system get fixed. Advertisers were calling my house because he would not call them back.
I fell down a flight of stairs and severly injured my back while at a customer's home. I did not get back to the office until after they closed that day. That night I got no sleep at all due to pain. I reported it at 1 pm when it became apparent that I needed to go to the hospital. I went to the hospital and was x-rayed and a MRI was ordered. The doctor gave me a written report to give to the employer to STAY HOME.
Scott called me day and night trying to manipulate me to not file a Workmans Comp claim. I have his wife on my cell phone recorder 4 times: -Admitting I was hurt—Telling me she spoke to my doctor and wanted to make sure I could have a MRI—And other text messages, recordings etc from Scott Anderson (owner) adknowledging me getting hurt. When I refused to put it on MY insurance—He refused to give me the Workmans Comp company name. I had no choice to retain a lawyer to get this information.
This is where I realize what a Pathetic fat-ass he is... HE FIRED ME! (A violation of federal and state law!) Of course I found out why... They had NO Workman's Comp insurance! It was cancelled Months ago for NON-PAYMENT! He also STOLE $500 of my last check and put it in writing to me! (very stupid-making my lawyer's job pretty easy!)
So now I am home, I have severe damage to my disc's due to a fall on the job, I am awaiting surgury... And he thinks I am going to go away... No Fu*g way! I was hurt on the job... And he violated many, many laws. The laws are in place to protect workers who get injured. Not to make his pathetic spending habits everyone elses problem!
Everyhomeowner is at risk to what he is doing to homeowners. I still am getting phone calls from angry folks who's basement is leaking and he will not pay the labor to send a person to honor the warranty. BUYER BEWARE!!!
The workers are not covered by any insurance and YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY IF THEY ARE INJURED!
I have a list of several disatisfied and angry people who have been "hanging out to dry" Any follow up posts I will email you there names as they have alot!
Currently, I will be the fourth person to file suit against TRI-STATE BASEMENT SYSTEMS.
If you need any work in your basement, waterproofing, repair etc, Please call someone else. You can find them in the phone book or under Basement Waterproofing. I witnessed Scott Anderson Slander these other companies for almost 2 years. I watched him defaim them to other contractors, to customers and to employees. I have recently met the owners of these 2 companies, I have met their lawyers and will be able to give a lengthy account of a dispicable person attempting to destroy these honest folks who are trying to make a living.
The laws are in place to protect everyone. You are the homeowner and you have a right to know how the internal operations are conducted by a company you are considering hiring. Again I have a list of former employees and their phone numbers as well as some really PISSED OFF home owners in New York, Vermont and More! I hope I saved you a lifetime of grief and hardship by posting this information. I have several "REFERENCES" That you MUST talk to!
