I called Rapid Plumbing to give me a "free estimate" for a water heater that was leaking. The technician showed up and mentioned that the whole water heater needs to be replaced which will cost around 2,000 dollars. I asked the technician if he is sure that the whole unit needs to be replaced and if he can check to see if the problem is a damaged pipe or something. He said it will cost 45.00 dollars to determine where the problem exactly is. I said no problem and paid the money. The technician takes the two screws off and the panel comes off, he "observes" it and tells me the whole water heater needs to be replaced. I told him we will hold on for right now. Because I can not afford it.
The next day, I called a different plumbing company and the technician came and looked at the problem. He mentioned that the problem is the pipe running to the unit. So he shut the water off and replaced the pipe and the whole thing was about 55.00 Dollars.
I called the Rapid Plumbing company around 4 times and explained the situation several times and I was referred to manager every time; who wasn't available. I only wanted my 45.00 dollar back. Finally after 3 or 4 days the manager called me and after a frustrating conversation he said there is nothing he can do to help me.
I just checked them out on BBB and they have a rating of F.
So I guess I paid 45.00 dollars for the "technician" to lie about the problem.
Rapid plumbing - rapidly ripping people off
Bottom line: stay away from rapid plumbing.
