During the recent cold snap (dec) we had two in wall heaters (Cadet brand) that failed... One of which was spewing sparks... With 2 simular unit failures. We checked & found that these had been recalled do to this issue... We contacted Cadet manufacturing and learned that the heaters in our home were all recalled - some of the worst they had distributed & it was recommended to stop using them imediately...
Unfortunately Cadet refuses to assist in the cost of the replacement heaters because excessive time has gone by since the recall ended... They claim they have fulfilled all of their responsibility as per the recall guidelines—even though we were never notified of the recalls... As it turns out they didnt have to notify the consumers with the heaters directly instead by running advertisements, which never reached many of the consumers... This family is left in the cold by cadet... This recall should be opened back up.
