Kevin Ellner goes by many names, uses many business names, has ripped off many, many people in the Travis/Williamson Counties, has a criminal record, has had many leins and judgements against him to pay-up (one judgement was up to $40k!) and has done a good job of skirting the law by a hair.
Kevin Ellner does a good job of talking like he knows what he's doing, but in the end he will leave you with no work completed and no money. Last year, in He has stolen $2000 and left me with a ripped-up back yard and no finished contracted work.
His mode of operation is very typical - he will get you to sign a "contract" and make you think you're protected by this, then he will ask for some of the money up front as a deposit or sometimes make you think you're getting such a good deal that you need to pay up front cause he's not making much money & needs to pay the people he's hiring right away - he always acts like he's doing you a favor. Then, after payment, he will either disappear, or if you harass him with enough phone calls, he will start some of the work, but never finish, and then disappear.
The websites that "Victim" in Austin pointed you to are real. He was also investigated by KEYE TV station's reporter, Olga Campos, for about $4k he stole from another unsuspecting Austinite.

What's worse is that he operates in so many areas that even if you report this scam-artist to the cops, they don't take it seriously cause it's petty money and they don't have the coordination between the various districts to be able to pin point and file charges against him.
His criminal record is REAL. His rip-off is real. The guy who filed the rebuttal is actually KEVIN himself trying to keep his business afloat.
