Ripoff Fraudulent billing Bad Customer Service

Ruining my credit, double billing, fraud, bad customer service, ignoring, consumer fraud ripoff.

I purchased a new vacuum in 12/01, which was defective due to a cracked base. I returned it to Oreck for replacement, and sent the defective one back using their shipper label and box. They received the returned unit, and continued to bill me for both units.

I have contacted them repeatedly (monthly since the first unit was returned) to get the 2nd charge removed, and each time have been promised that it would be (and already should have been). I received a phone call today (11/15/02 and almost a year later) from "Sonia" at x7247, claiming that my account has not yet been cleared because they think they received a "car vac" instead of an upright.

I cannot seem to get resolution on my account, and receive threatening letters from them each month regarding my account being placed with a debt collection service, "Security Center Colleciton Service." At this point, I would like to return my "replacement vacuum" back to the company as well. I would like assistance in holding Oreck accountable for their sloppy customer service, and attempt to STEAL $399 from me, as well as my valuable time.
