I am currently an employee of Evans Glass and I wish I wasn't. I have been working my a*! Off for this company for the past few months and have little to show for it. The one thing that I do have to show is the fact that I doubled the amount of miles on my car. I keep getting promises of promotions and better wages but have yet to see them. Without giving my self away I have put up some amazing numbers month after month and have broken some company records. But in the end all I have is a pipe line with around 4k-5k sitting in it and I know that I will probably never see it. All I hear from other employees is that they still have not been fully paid for jobs that have been installed months ago. When I do get pay checks they go straight to gas so that I can go out and make them some more money and at the same time keep slowly putting myself in the hole. I want out but I don't want to leave my pipeline of money that I have earned and need. I need some advice of what I should do.
To start off this lovely story about the worlds most ridiculous company I have just learned that Evans has turned myself and all other current and past employees into liers. The company trains employees to use a pitch book to show customers about the company and energy savings. Well in the old pitch book it has a list of companies that Evans Glass claims they did commercial work for ie Nordstroms, Fred Meyer Sears Microsoft world campus... Etc. I just learned that these are all fabricated lies the company (Robert Jonas) has come up with to make them seem better than they are. Apparently the reason we just changed that portion is because of a potential lawsuit. Also Evans claimed that the Thermal Perm E glass that is used in the windows is exclusive to Evans and only Evans. Thats another lie. The glass is not even called Thermal Perm E it's actually just a new low E glass that is available to everyone. Evans just changed the name to Thermal Perm E. To top it off they had to also remove this from the brochures due to potential lawsuits.
A couple of more lies is that the company is not an undivided company as they claim. Evans says that they manufacture their window and that is a bold face lie. The windows are actually manufactured by two different companies. The first one is VPI out of spokane washington and the other is LBL in troutdale oregon. Evans pays them to make the windows, they do not actually do it themselves. Plus Evans claims that the installers are Evans employees and are paid salary and are under contract with Evans to only install their window. Thats another lie. Evans outsources their installers just like everyone else. They just consider them Evans employees because Evans hires them for that specific job.
The one thing that I have learned while at this company is how to word things to throw off the customers. It is actually something that they have started to specify during friday meetings.
The company also claims that they have been around since 1976 and that is another lie. It's actually more like 10 years ago. I have almost read through all the reports on this site and can tell you that all the ex employees, current employee and customer complaints are pretty much all true.
The only reason why I am filing this under anonymous user is because I am still a current employee who is trying to figure out how to get the money that is owed to me. If you have any advice or questions please feel free to ask and I will respond. Yes I will actually respond not like the customer service that is offered be Evans glass
All in all this was suppost to be a small response but obviously things have gotten to the point that I couldn't help but to vent. Not like Evans ill be honest because that's what I always try to do and say that the product is a good one but the company itself is a fraud.
