Dissatisfied with service and want out of contract

My general problem with Protect America is this: the system has constantly malfunctioned since it was installed and I want out of the contract. It is useless to me, and a complete drain of my resources, and unfortunately I signed a contract which requires me to keep it for years.

Initially, I was tardy with the installation of the system... I wasn't sure I knew how, and my father, who used to work for Sonitrol, kept telling me he would come over and install it for me. The tardiness of the installation resulted in Protect America charging my credit account something like $260.

In spite of the above charge, they continued to charge my account a monthly fee.

Once it was installed properly (again, my father finally was able to drive instate and install it), it continually alarmed. I was afraid to initiate the system, for fear of both repeated false alarms and the irritation of the sound to my son, who has autism.

I tried to make several contacts with the company regarding this, and have not had a response.

I want OUT of the contract... And find it inappropriate to have been charged the large $260 fee with continued monthly charges.

I will be happy to return each and every bit of their system. It simply does not work.
