They quote one price over the phone and once they get there and start working, the price changes dramatically. I was quoted on the phone for an emergency lockout, $45 to come out and "if the lock has to be replaced, it will be another $40". When the guy arrived and started work, once he took off the lock, he explained that to replace the lock is $125. So now we're up to a whopping $200 plus dollars. When my sister and I explained to him what we were both told on two separate calls to his company, he proceeded to argue with us and said he could leave the door as it was. I told him to do so because I would leave my sister there to watch while I went to Walmart to get a new double bolt lock and put it on myself. This was fine with him, he just needed to be paid for the work he has already done. He said this was $45 for coming out, $65 dollars for drilling.
I had him call the office so we could speak with the person who originally quoted us and his story changed as well. He insisted that I misunderstood him. When I told him that my sister also called him after me and she understood the same thing as I had, so I was sure that both of us did not misunderstand such simple information.
After minutes of shouting, I just wanted to get rid of these liars, so I gave him my credit card to charge what we owed so he could leave. 45 and 65 is 110. I was so angry at the time that I did not notice that the invoice he wrote was not itemized, not too legible and for a higher amount. He charged my credit card for $133.00.
My advice to anyone is to avoid this company at all costs. They are not honest business people, so how could they be reliable. Probably because to the average honest person, reliable evokes a trust. The only reason I gave it 1 star was because you are not allowed to leave them blank. Don't fall for this one.
This practice seems to be how this company does it's business. One can only imagine how many people have just let them get away with it.
P.S. There is no phyiscal address listed on the invoice or in the google directory. When I tried to visit the site website at www.locksmith.Us, nothing came up.
