In OCTOBER I ordered an LG refrigerator through Homedepot.com. The unit was on backorder, and I was told to expect 2-3 weeks until the order could go to the manufacturer. I could live with 2-3 weeks, but more than 2 months have gone by and I am running out of patience. Four weeks passed before LG actually received the order, and that is the moment MY CREDIT CARD WAS CHARGED!
Three delivery dates have been revised and I STILL DO NOT have the refrigerator, with NO EXPECTED DELIVERY DATE. Whenever a date gets set, I phone both Homedepot.com AND LG Electronics to confirm, and every time something has been altered WITHOUT NOTICE. Neither customer service department helps, because they just pass you along. They say units are coming into the warehouse, but there is no guarantee one will go to me. This morning I was told I would be contacted when a unit becomes available, and nobody can say when.
They proposed other models and brands, but those would cost me an extra $400. If I wanted the charge removed from my card, I would need to CANCEL the order, and THEIR OWN REP suggested exactly that. I can't simply cancel. The "special online price" (a scam, in my view) is almost $700 below every other store, and cheaper even than scratch and dent units. They realize I am stuck, since I can't match that price anywhere, yet customer service can't give me any real information about delivery.
VERY IMPORTANT: should a Homedepot.com representative send you to a local store for assistance, do not go! The online operation is entirely independent of the stores, which can do nothing for you, appliances above all!
Nightmare to be continued... and not by choice!
