Complaint / Review
Recreational Factory Warehouse
Insider tells all tuff luck al

I have recently found this website and was not the least bit surprised at what I found regarding this company!

Due to the nature of my admissions here, I am speaking anonymously and not mentioning specific store locations.

I have worked as a contractor for Recreational Factory Warehouse in the past and am here to say that the stories/complaints on this website are not in the least bit exagarrated. This company hires independant contractors to do their dirty work at EVERY store in their chain. These contractors are expected to "warranty" the repair of the products installed for a certain amount of time after delivery is made. For this reason, customer service stinks because (in my case with spas) 75% of the spas we delivered had a service call on them in one way or the other within weeks of delivery-many 4 and 5 trips to replace parts, etc.

While the paid in full/financed customer that already had their spa, waited, we were instructed to deliver new sales as fast as possible and do the service on our off time. Spa after spa, service call after service call finally snowballs and customer service goes straight down the tubes. (remember all these service calls are free/not paid to contractor, since the contractor is responsible for fixing them).

I have delivered used spas/floor models as "new"... I have delivered billiard tables that were assembled and returned by other customers as "new" items, etc. Etc. Etc.

I have knowingly installed liners that were not the thickness/quality that had been purchased by customer. (my job depended on it)

I know contractors that have spread xeobrite (goes in filter tank) under pool liners as though they were putting down weed killer for reasons I can't explain. Needless to say, these pools will have grass growing through the liner in no time at all... Sorry, not covered under the warranty.

This company even had a pool (or maybe 2) explode in one of their showrooms in florida due to some type of manufacturing problem (is your wall bulging)... Yet never recalled or replaced any of these products in the field! (Imagine swimming in your pool when it explodes and you are sucked out like cheese through a grater against razor sharp edges where the pool split apart) At this time, I am not aware of this happening to any customer's pool in their backyard-fair disclosure.

Some stores need to hire a new contractor EVERY year because they are treated as bad as customer service is handled.

Between battling service calls, screaming customers, service settlements (how we get paid), waiting to get paid (partial payments at that) and supporting the fraud and deceit they wreak on the markets they operate in... Its an easy decision to bite the hand that feeds me.

There are some fine people working in this company and not all products or stores are wretched but the fickle finger of fate is always on the move because they rotate personnell from store to store... Guess why?

I have most of these items mentioned documented and I can take you to the customers homes and prove it... So any rebuttle is futile from RFW.

Caveat emptor
