I called to inquire about having my lawn mower serviced in the middle of the summer 2006. I was quoted a rate of $35 to have the oil changed, blade sharpened, filters replaced, and spark plug replaced. Keep in mind there is not a lot of oil used and the parts are really minimal cost.
I was told the mower could be done in a few days. I went to pick it up a week later when it was finally ready. I was told I could come by at the open of business to pick it up. I was in a hurry as I needed it back to cut my lawn that morning and then head out of town for a few days on a work trip.
The employees showed up a half hour AFTER the opening time for the business despite knowing I would be coming first thing to pick up the mower. I was charged over $70 for the repair. The man checking me out giggled and said it has been happening a lot that they tell you one thing over the phone and then charge you the "right price" when you pick it up. I argued, but they said I would have to leave the mower there until a manager could come in and weigh in on the subject. I paid the rip-off price and left with my mower.
The blade was no sharper than when I dropped it off. The mower also seems to run slower and worse than before I had it 'serviced'. I wish I did my research before trusting this place. It was a complete rip-off. They doubled the price, were a half-week late on getting me my mower and the job itself was poor. To top it all off, they were actually sarcastic and laughing about the price 'difference'.
Be warned.
