I ordered cabinets and wrote the distressed sample I wanted them to match on the detail sheet. We added a molding around the inside of the doors. They agreed to match the sample and simply add the molding.
During production they called me and asked if they could leave off the spoke shaving to enable them to put on the molding. I said yes although I should have said make me a sample.
They took this as permissiion to invent some conglomeration of a distressed finish that didn't even remotely match the sample. The quality of workmanship was not remotely the same and the other characteristics didn't match. Other cabinet makers have agreed with this assessment.
They totally refuse responsibility for what they have done and they have insulted me personally in every possible way.
