Contacted AAA Auger to provide me with an "estimate" to replace appx. 2 feet of pipe under the house and repair a small water leak.
The home belongs to my recently decease elderly aunt who has 2 mentally challenged adults (her children) that I take care of. Neither are capable of making sound judgements, signing any contracts or truly understand what is going on. This was explained to AAA Auger prior to them going to their house for an estimate.
An Appointment was made to meet with them that morning. They called back and told me they could not meet until later that day. I work and asked them to call me on my cell phone with an ESTIMATE. At no time did I receive a call from them.
Later that night, I found out that they made unauthorized repairs and charged them $1,500.00 for the pipe and $300.00 for the water leak. They did not leave a copy of the work performed or an invoice. As soon as I found out what had transpired, we placed a stop payment on their check!
Finally received a copy of an ALTERED invoice and a notice of "Mechanics Lien" on the house.
Mr. David Cross has now been calling my cell phone and leaving disparing remarks and slandering my character. This from a company that performed unauthorized work on the house and TAKEN ADVANTAGE of two individulas that do not have the mental facilities to make these type of decisions.
AAA Auger has clearly taken advantage of these two due to their mental capabilities and lack of understanding.
I have reported them to the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners and the case is under investigation.
Clear warning to others. This is not a company you want to do business with.
