Representatives from Plumb Crazy, Inc. Came to my home on Wednesday, August 30th to asses plumbing jobs in my home. I was told they would be there at 8:30 a. M, and so I aranged my morning to accomodate. THey did not show up untill 2:00 pm, then requested a couple of days to get necessary parts together.
On Friday, September 1st, two plumbers came to my home, performed a second assessment of the necessary jobs, and reported that I needed a new faucet. (I knew I needed a toilet, so I obtaineed one the previous day, would have gotten a faucet if I had known!) The lead plumber disappeared for over two hours.
During this time, his assistant installed the toilet and prepared the other bathroom for installation of the faucet, and then he spent 1 hour waiting for the lead plumber to return.
When he finally returned, he stated the faucet was $120.00 (BEFORE THEIR MARK UP), and gave no explanation as to why he was gone for over two hours. I later found the exact fauct at Home Deopt (5 minutes from my home) for $89.in addition to being lied to and being charged $90 per hour for his two hour disapearing act!!! When I had another plumbing company come out to fix their mistakes I learned that the faucet kit DID have a matching drain plug, which they did not install or leave for me to install! I had to pay for a mismatched drain because of this!
My shower was working PERFECTLY, but it did not have a round plate that flushed with the wall. I stated during both assessments that if they had a spare decorative plate for the shower valve it would be nice if they could just put it on, but it was not a priority because the shower was in good working order. The lead technician left my house again for another hour, and returned with a purchased replacement valve cover and plate and attempted to install it. The part he bought did not fit my shower, he spent one hour adjusting the valve cover, and when it did not fit, he used caulking to secure the valve cover and replacement plate to the shower wall.
On Saturday, September 2nd, I noticed water flooding around the newly installed toilet, and when I turned off the water the leaking did not stop. Later in the day, I attempted to take a shower, and the faucet dislocated from the shower wall and began spraying water uncontrollably.
I did not contact the plumbing company due to it being a holiday weekend, and spent Saturday, Sunday, and Monday with out the downstairs bathroom and shower.
On Tuesday September 5th, I phoned Plumb Crazy and spoke with Maria and Karen detailing the extent of the above stated problems. The office manager was rude, and after being beraded for 10 minutes she told me the lead technician would come to my house that day to fix the problem. So once again I cancelled all my apointments for the day.
At 3:30 pm I received a phone call stating no one was available until Thursday September 7th to fix their mess. I told them this was unacceptable and would like to speak to the owner of the company. I did not receive a phone call from the owner.
Wednesday September 6th I recieved a phone call from the office manager who told me no one could come to my house until Thur. And I would have to be okay with this. Again, I asked to speak to the owner.
The friend who refered them to me has multiple rental properties and uses this company frequently. She called the office manager to express displeasure with how they were treating her eferrals, and they were in jeopardy of losing her business. After she called the office manager called tell me someone would be to my home that day, and her primary concern was that I call my friend to tell her someone was coming that day. I did record this conversation.
A Plumb Crazy representative did come to my home and caulked around the leaking toilet, and then re-caulked the shower upstairs and then told me before leaving not to use the shower for 48 hours.
On Friday September 8th, I attempted to take a shower, and the diverter for the shower was only diverting 50% of water to the shower, and the valve cover and faceplate dislocated again, leaving sticky caulk all over my shower wall.
I then called Plumb Crazy and spoke with the office for 20 minutes. This conversation was recorded and demonstrates the lack of professionalism within the company. I was told that I was being impossible, and unreasonable, I was yelled at etc. I concluded the conversation by stating I did not want this company back to my home a second time to attempt to fix their plumbing mistakes.
I have pictures documenting the above plumbing disaster. After hiring another plumbing company I have learned of other mistakes they made, and the shower that was working perfectly prior required a new faucet because they broke the old one beyond repair!
