SURVIVORS MOVING AND STORAGE CREW from San Jose, CA is not reliable, unprofessional and came 2 hours later than the appointed time. Our move was last June 18 from Ripon; CA to San Francisco and was scheduled at 8 AM. They arrived at 11 AM.
This crew damaged our beautiful coffee table and failed to bring our piano into our second level flat in San Francisco.
The Israeli man in charge was uncooperative, repulsive and rude. We were charged extra fees to have our piano moved from our Ripon home to our new San Francisco flat and was given the information on the moving day itself plus, we were charged a lot of "hidden fees" that were not indicated at all in the contract, emails and phone calls made/given to us prior to our moving day.
Survivors Moving And Storage failed to move our piano to our disappointment.
Our landlord in San Francisco offered his garage to keep our piano for the time being. We waited for two months for Survivors Moving to respond to us and to send their crew to move it.
After a lot of phone calls, they finally sent another crew two months later in August which was a long time to do because this service was paid for in advance.
Again, another Israeli man was sent to lead this move to no avail. The things he said why they couldn't move our piano were:
1. The stairway is narrow.
2. The door to the entry to our flat is narrow as well.
3. The veranda is small and the sliding door is narrow to accommodate the piano; if we had to have the piano be moved from the veranda that from our impression is something else because from what we have seen, they are incapable of doing so and for which inevitably became the obvious.
4. We were pressured to sign another WAIVER that in case the piano is broken, they won't be responsible for the damages but us. Of course, we didn't buy this.
Frustrated with their rudeness, harsh words, harassment strategies and more so - for their lack of professionalism on the job, we finally decided not to have them do it. We couldn't risk that our piano be in the hands of movers incapable of doing it right. This piano is important to me since I am a pianist.
When I printed out the contract in my PC, it was indicated there that they would move a piano, furniture and personal effects. When the Survivors crew arrived in our house in Ripon, CA - the leader complained and said he didn't know there is a piano! The way these Israeli nationals talk was hurtful and almost always on shouting range which is quite annoying and offensive, as a matter of fact.
Anyhow, we hired another moving company this time in San Francisco and last week, we were happy with the service rendered to us by this group.
Sure, we paid an astronomical sum just to move our piano from the garage to the second floor level we live in. But it was worth the price. It is different because we were dealing with professionals who knew who to treat us-their clients - with respect and courtesy.
What Survivors Moving crew did was to complain about the structure of our apartment in San Francisco - to cover up for their lack of skills to do the job. But accepted the job nonetheless.
Our moving company in San Francisco didn't say a bad thing about the size nor the structure of our apartment, moved the piano in less than twenty five minutes' time without a word of complain.
SURVIVORS MOVING AND STORAGE does not deserve to be in the moving and storage business because they'd rip you off your money and squirt your blood with intolerance and you wonder why they named their company SURVIVORS MOVING? My husband and I didn't survive their strategy. I pity their next victims just as I feel for us.
