On May 30, I purchased and paid for a set of bedroom furniture from Blackwelder Industries with the knowledge that delivery of this furniture would come within 12-16 weeks. As of today, over twelve months after my purchase, I have not yet received my furniture
I have had either conversations or e-mail exchanges with Blackwelder representatives, but to-date have not received any specific information about the status of my order or when I might receive the furniture.
However, almost every interaction I have had with Blackwelder, when they answered either the phone or emails, was to indicate that everything was fine and that my order was forthcoming.
I submitted a compliant to the Better Business Bureau of Northwest North Carolina on March 7. On April 24 I received a letter from the BBB indicating that my complaint was forwarded by the BBB to Blackwelder. As of April 20, the BBB had not received a response. Since then, Blackwelder's membership in the BBB was terminated.
In mid-May I also submitted complaints to the Attorney General of North Carolina, and my credit card holder, Chase Card Services. I am waiting for their responses.
While I cannot find any direct evidence, I believe Blackwelder's is out of business, and my money gone with them.
