I called Lonnie's Plumbing for a "running" toilet. They said no extra charge for weekend. I had used them several times in the past & they had always given me a good deal. When the plumber came he said it would be around $350, he was replacing the tank & parts & he said "It will be like a brand new toilet." It was almost 40 yrs old & my dad couldn't fix it so I asked if this was the normal charge & he said "yes, this is the going rate". Well, I believed him as they never screwed me before. Of course, that was when Lonnie was alive. I found out later he died & the family sold the business to REDDI SERVICES.
So, when I realized the tank wasn't replaced only the parts, I called other plumbers and got quotes of $105, $125 & $130 for the work that the crooked plumber actually did. I called the company & they wouldn't call so back I sent a certified letter & Toby, a manager, finally called and said he would not refund any money to me. He said his rates are average & I reminded him of the actual costs of the parts (retail under $45) which brings his hourly rate to over $300 and he said "so, some plumbers charge $400" I choked on the response. No plumber is worth that much.
