HH Gregg
Fradulent Shipping, Billing Practices

Let me preface this by saying that I was a loyal HH Gregg customer and over a year and a half ago purchased a TV that I love from their store, but recently...
I bought a house and had a builder credit of $700 for appliances at thier location.

I wound up purchasing over $2,000 worth of appliances from them for my house in October. The house wound up getting delayed and we were not able to move in until December. I put $1,300 on my HH Gregg charge and had the builder pay for the remainder of the balance, which was understood by my salesman.

In November I finally got my card in the mail from HH Gregg (it is a miracle as the salesman who put the information in never did get any of my information right). I never received a bill which I finally got corrected in December after logging in to my online account to check my balance.

I then called about getting my appliances installed the first week of December and again spoke with the salesman who let me know there was no problem and I could get those shipped. I called to confirm that Friday and the manager told me I would have to come into the store to settle a balance on my account and that the items were never put into the system.

I showed up adn my account had quite a few wrong charges on it. So after an hour of having the manager try to figure it out she assured me I would have my items delivered the next day.

Well the next day passed and I never got a call to get my items delivered. I had to call the store at 4 pm after waiting around all day to have them sent to my new house. I was told by the salesman it never was put in the system. What it amounted to was the builder came and paid for two of the items, but did not pay the full $700.

So they didnt let me know that and finally I had them put the balance on my card so I could get the items delivered. Sunday came and they called and it had snowed a little. Neither the driver nor the salesman informed me that they could not bring the items in through the garage and that the driveway had to be totally clear for them to deliver.

So I waited all day to learn this. I spoke with the manager who let me know that they could deliver the items on Monday. I took the entire day off to wait on them to show up and they do. The delivery guys do a great job of getting the fridge and range installed, but as they do I notice a dent in the refrigerator door and as I open it up I see an open box form inside.

The salesman had fradulently signed his name in the customer inspection part of the form and sent me an open-box item when I had paid full price for a new one. I found out both items were open-box display models.

I called the store manager and she did not seem concerned at all and only offered to switch out the door on the fridge. I demanded I get new items and they complied, but I had to take another day off of work that wednesday to get the items delivered.

The delivery drivers arrived on wendesday and proceeded to not follow protocol and try to cover their muddy feet. They not only tracked mud all over the carpet, but damaged my walls in the process. At this point I confronted them on this and was asked angrily by one of them "What do you think having items delivered at this time of year, and that if I wanted to items I would have to help the other guy and that he was sitting in the truck!"

I called and left a message with a supervisor and had them document the damage. After 4 attempts to contact the service office they got a hold of me and did send someone out to fix the damage.

At this point I called to let the service department know of my issues. They offered me $100 for my problems. I let them know that after all of these issues they could only offer me $100 when they had messed up the delivery for my washer and dryer they paid me $100. They then promised me $253 off of my bill and $100 for my problems. They also offered me money off of all of my appliances amounting to another $260.

This has been 6 weeks ago and my account was still not corrected. I would love to take legal action for them trying to defraud me with the used appliaces, but I dont have the time. At this point I just want to be done with HH Gregg forever.
