I recommend to everyone I can from now on that they don't buy GE products. We bought a Lennar home that came fully furnished with all GE appliances. After living in this home for 1 year and 4 months both our clothes washer and refrigerator broke in the same week!!! Our 1 year warranty coverage on these products was expired now for 4 months. We called the GE repair services to fix our refrigerator. The clothes washer made so much noise we just decided to throw it in the garbage and replaced it with a reliable Whirlpool washer.
Get this, when I made the call to get the GE repair service and arrange for an appointment to fix our refrigerator the GE truck was directly across the street fixing our neighbors broken down appliances!!! Lennar Builders fills these houses with the cheapest junk they can get and that is the GE brand!
The repair man came out to our house and replaced a cheap little heater coil and melted some ice with a heat gun and charge us $215.00 for about 30 to 45 minutes work! They were going to charge us $245.00 but brought the price down to try to impress us that they were so kind and fair! They didn't fool us but I guess they fool themselves into thinking their such kind people. The repair man tried blaming power surges for breaking our appliances " they are building lots of new houses around here and the power surges blow out the appliances" is what he said. This sounds like passing the buck to me, why doesn't GE warn it's customer's about this and recommend they put surge suppressors on the appliances, they only have over 100 years experience?
Seems like they like the repair money too much to tell the folks the truth. The truth is my TV and computers have surge protectors that are intact and those would have blown out if there were any surges. The people at GE are a bunch of liars which seems like the new American way of doing things it is becoming very common.
