CompactAppliance.com Ripoff does not fully represent their product, then makes me eat 2.5X shipping costs

I contend that CompactAppliance.com does not fully and accurately represent their product (s), and then will not own up to any problem, calls it "buyer's remorse" and tries to make me the bad guy.

I downloaded the service manuals from the CompactAppliance.com website in order to research the suitability of this product, a washer/dryer combo unit, prior to ordering.

I discussed my limitations of living off-grid (using an inverter, solar/wind, well water, etc.) with the customer service agent who took my order, and the order was arranged to be shipped to a business ~50 miles away due to my remote location.

The unit simply will not work on modified sine wave power, the most common type of DC-to-AC inverter because it is one-third the price of a sine-wave inverter. I even drove 10-hours round trip to take my inverter to a service center, where it was verified A-OK.

My inverter powers not only timers, pumps, and other common appliances; it also powers sensitive electronics like my computer, CD, DVD, VCR, and TV. Would a "reasonable person" not conclude that it would also power a washing machine?

A "reasonable person" would conclude that I exercised sufficient due diligence in researching the suitability of this product to my application.

After "customer service" told me I was on my own to arrange return shipping (at $250, although I paid $100 to have it sent); I called the manufacturer, who said "oh yeah, we know that the unit will not run on modified sine wave".

It is now my position, after learning that the manufacturer was aware of the "modified sine wave" limitation, that CompactAppliance misrepresented their product and should be responsible for ALL shipping; return and the original, because this is their mistake, not my "buyer's remorse" as is their contention. The product is defective because it will not operate on 120v 15a power AS ADVERTISED.

As if all this were not enough, the company accurately represents that dryer times are typically 90 minutes. OK, that's a lot, but the unit is ventless, 110v, and has a built-in water heater, I'll live with long dryer times. What the company does not tell you, (which the manufacturer freely admits), is that the wash cycle is 75 minutes long and the rinse/spin cycle is another 60 minutes! All to wash and dry a pixie-sized load of laundry! I suspect that CompactAppliance.com is not telling me this is because if I knew in advance that it would take 3-hours 45-minutes for one load, I would never even consider buying it.

I am aware of the relatively small amounts of monetary damage we are talking about ($350 total shipping for a product I can't use). So do this: right now take out seven fifty-dollar bills from your wallet or purse, go to the lavatory, and flush them down. Do it now! Watch the bills spin, spin, spin, GONE! Anyone who would actually do this is entitled to tell me that it is not a significant amount of money.
