In my husband and I moved into our brand new dream home we had built by local home builder, John Balfanz Homes, in Bakersfield, Ca.
Of course with every new home, there were items on our move in inspection that needed to be taken care of and like every home builder, we were promised that these items would be.
We noted items on our move in inspection list, and made repeated written requests for repairs to our stucco, tile, etc.
To make a long story short, we had a home inspector come to the house and make a report which we gave to John Balfanz Homes and nothing happened.
They sent the tile people to my home several times since my tile makes a loud popping sound when stepped on and has continuously moved from one room to the next. Turns out my slab was not level and the bulder had to have a company come to my home and grind my concrete slab in the kitchen because the floor was not level. My tile still pops and now cracking. I had an independant contractor come out to my home. He pulled up my tile and said the reason for the popping was that there was no adhesive on the back of the tile! The grout on the tile countertops are so bad that it also needs to be removed.
My stucco is falling off in patches. They finally repaired my holes where the carriage lights were to have been but it took them 2 1/2 yrs. When they fog coated the stucco, they used the wrong color and when I told them it wasn't the correct color they said it was. I have a photo copy of the repair request they had me sign which is the request their office wrote up and it states the color of the stucco which is the incorrect color! They said they will no longer make any repairs to my home.
They're service is awful and the work is sub standard. John Balfanz is making too much money and his success has gone to his head. He was raised in Bakesfield and this is a Good Ol Boys town and if were smart, you would appreciate the business and treat customers right because I guarantee it will come back and bite you in the a... Also on his website, click on the about me page. You can tell he has no brains. Why would you print photos of your children but then you and your wife have sun glasses on? People can recognize your children dip*!
