Ripoff! Failure to provide $25.00 Shell Gas card

The following incidents occured when I contacted Custom View Windows and Doors based in Tucson and operating business in Phoenix.

A flyer was sent out in January of this year explaining that Custom View would provide a complimentary no purchase necessary $25.00 Gas card from Shell when you set up an appointment with one of their sales people.

I called the number on the card and spoke with Roseanne at 602-385-0216 who set up the appointment and also reconfirmed the $25.00 Shell Gas gift card that I would receive upon completing the sales presentation.

The sales man from Custom View was very professional and well informed about the company and the product however, when I asked if their company was a member of the BBB he said no and referred me over to the state contractors website instead.

I was impressed enough with his presentation and the product that I decided to purchase that evening. The following day I checked out the company on the BBB website and found several outstanding customer service issues.

On Monday I called and left a message for John Wagner saying that I wanted to cancel my order because of the information about Custom View on the BBB website.instead of getting a call back from John I received a call from Jeffrey Herndon the President of the company saying that the complaints filed were not by customers of Custom View rather they were complaining about "having Custom View park their cars in front of their houses" or other non-issues.

I figured if the President of the company was calling then it must be true. I took him for his word and said that I would not cancel. He asked me to write a letter saying that I wanted to proceed with the work instead.

The next day I spoke with the director of the Tucson BBB and asked him if the BBB ever handles complaints from non-customers and he said that they only handle those that are in writing from customers who must show proof that there was a business contract or that work had been promised.

I sent Custom View a "first class Priority Mail Letter" with receipt requested. The letter requested Custom View cancel their services and the next day I received a call from John Wagner at my work and him starting to tell me that he has lawyers that... At that point I told him not to contact me any further.

Custom View has failed to send the $25.00 Shell Gas card and my calls are going unanswered after the 6 to 8 weeks that the Gas card was suppose to be sent.
