Initially on 1/29/05 I made an $80 down payment on a dinette set at Furniture Depot located on Utica Ave between Ave N and Ave M in Brooklyn NY. On 2/13/05 I brought my Fianc to see the dinette set and it was not to his liking so we sought an alternative set. We found an alternate set and paid $313.98 plus an (additional $40 for delivery) for a black marble dinette set with 4 chairs to which was to be delivered 2/13/05, the same night.

When we opened the table it was not what I ordered. I went back to the store the next day and they informed that they would have the table redelivered. A week went by still they did not redeliver the table as promised. I was out sick for three days and called them constantly, still no table. They finally deliver the table on 2/19/05, and guess what its still the wrong table.

I called the store again because now I am pissed and they inform me that they will redeliver another table, of course with no time frame. I go to the store to request my money back and they inform me that they cannot refund my money although they have messed up twice and didn't deliver as promised.

I go to the store on 2/20/05 and I order end tables because they would not give me back my money. The man named Jerry informed me that he would call me the next day to inform me whether the end tables I requested in place of the dinette set is in stock, or whether I would have to wait for the company to get it delivered. Another week goes by and no call.

I go by the store on 3/1/05 to request my money back again the woman tells me how she will not give me back my money. How I can't tell them what they should do, they will tell me what they can do for me although they have my money. So she showed me some slip where she claims that the end tables I requested were ordered on 2/21/05. I demanded that she call me on 3/2/05 to give me a definite time frame as to when I am going to receive my end tables.

She calls me 3/2/05 and informs me that the end tables will be delivered to them on 3/8/05. I called them today and now the story is (Jerry Speaking) that they are waiting for a call from the manufacturer to inform them when they can receive the end tables.

When you call they are very nasty especially the woman. During my experience with them I mostly dealt with Orville who is suppose to be the office manager, still no success.

I have even called them several times about picking up the items (wrong dinette set) currently at my house. They keep telling me that they don't have any drivers that day or that someone is coming and no one ever shows up. I told them that my house is not storage and they should come and get their things. Still nothing. I am at my peak. I feel that I have been very nice about this whole ordeal, but when I call they are nasty.

At this point I don't want anything from them but my money. My last time at the store, things became really heated between the woman, my fianc and I and I don't want any trouble, I just want my money back.

In telling a friend of mine about the ordeal, she informed me that Furniture Depot was previously the infamous Nationwide Furniture Store that had all the customer complaints. She and her sister had a similar incident when trying to get a dresser from them. Nationwide nka (now known as) Furniture Depot had sold her dresser and gave her and her sister the rerun around after taking their money as well.

What can I do? Please help.
