I hired Pacific View Builders to do some Architectural planning and Engineering work on a remodelling project on my home. They were represented by Avi Adri and Steve Numa, the latter was field representavie and I've been mostly dealing with Avi, who is responsible for doing the work.
We signed the contract for $6500, on May/04 with a completion date 06/30/04 and I paid Avi 10% at that time. He came next week with an architect, took measurements and I paid him $3200. Two weeks later he came back with a rough sketch of the plan on 8.5x11 inch paper, I made some changes, he reappeared next week with corrections, still on same paper. He demanded the rest of the payment and promised to complete the real plan on legal pater and bring it a week later. I was stupid enough to trust him and paid $2350.
Well, to make long story short, I haven't seen or heard of him since. I made numerous calls and he won't answer. I call from different number and would get excuses like, I'll bring it next week, I'm on vacation, architect on vacation etc. I called steve Numa, but they don't work together any more. This was going on till October and still with no plans in my hand, I demanded him to stop working on my project and asked for a refund.
I complained with State Licensing Board, but they suggested going after the Bond. I claimed against the Bond, but found out that there are numerous claims aginst the bond. Also found out that their State License has expired. So, I'm in a tough situation, even if I pursue this in court, ther is no guarantee that I'll get my money back.
Never hire Pacific View Builders, Avi Adri is a Crook, these guys are bunch of crooks. I know of other projects where they abandoned and have lawsuits against them. Never hire these guys.
