We just moved to a new location and decided to order a carport. We found the Carport.com online and after several e-mails from their representative, we ordered a carport.
We were told that the quoted price was final and included installation and all taxes.
After several weeks we received an email from another company (interstatecarports.net) with some plans and were told that we needed a permit. Nobody told us about that before!
Local permit office said that the plans were not sufficient for our location and required some changes.
Interstate Carports told us that we would have to pay $ 150 for special plans and also the structure would be more expensive.
This all went over our budget and we decided to cancel the order.
After several phone calls we were told by the customer service manager that the deposit ($ 114.50) was not refundable.
I wonder if this is a good business practice?
We warn everyone to deal with this company, they do not return calls and they claimed that the people we were dealing with before were no longer with the company.
