I have had the regular magicjack for a couple of years, and for the most part it worked fine. After reading the reviews, I decided to give magicjack plus a try since it was not necessary to keep it plugged into a computer, and this sounded like a good thing. Well, let me tell you, it did not work well at all. I sincerely believe that this is a defective product. It has constant problems - specifically and error 2 3 message which comes and goes intermittently. You won't even realize your phone isn't working. I spent hours online with technical support, and it would get better for a little while, then the same problems resurfaced. Also, dropped calls started happening more and more frequently. I have found an online forum dedicated to magicjack, and there is post after post after post detailing the same problems I have experienced. Long story short - I am now using AT&T Uverse Home Phone and am thrilled that I actually have reliable phone service again. You get what you pay for... I cannot in good conscience recommend this product to anyone. If you want a magicjack, go with the basic model and let them get the problems worked out of the magicjack plus. If you do decide to try it, be sure and save your packaging and make sure that you return it before the 30 day free trial is up. Don't make the mistake I did in thinking their tech support fixed the problem!
