First I have read a lot of complaints about Magicjack, and from what I've read I have come up with my conclusion that a lot of people need to learn more about how to use your computer. I can tell a lot of people for one is using cordless phones on their Magicjack which is a no no. Use a plug in phone with the cord no longer than 6 ft. As well most of you need to check your fire wall setting, cause if your getting calls out, and not in that should tell you something. And the most important is check your internet connection. Not every internet connection works with VOIP which is what Magicjack is! Like Satellite, dial up, 3g (cricket). Now with 3g you can still have the service but you may need to register the Magicjack on another computer, because the Magicjack's servers that you need to register on does not work well with 3g. But will work with VOIP.
And the most important is your computers themselves! If your are running a computer with and older processor and very little memory, then you can not expect much. And it is not going to do you much good to just add memory to a computer that has and older processor and mother board, because it can not be supported as far as the clock speed.
Now as far as you people complaining about Magicjack tech support, after reading the above, what do you want them to do, be honest with you and tell you that your computer is a piece of crap! Everything that I have writing above is disclosed in their FAQs and more. If you don't understand it then don't be ignorant just google what you don't understand, and if that still does not help then talk to A certified tech. (that is not your ordinary geek at Best Buy) It's a Technician that is certified in Computers!
I can tell you MagicJack is a great service... Period. Yes they still have a few things to over come. But that does not make them bad! Hell AT&T has been around for a hundred years, and do you think their service is Perfect! Well I can tell you that they keep making the list of the 15 companies that people Hate! And that includes their employees. About the only thing they are really good at is ripping their customers off! Now for all of you Airing all your dirty laundry out for all to see, Get some Help for your self. And quit blaming every one else for you short comings.
One more thing, I do not work for or with Magicjack. I am a very satisfied customer, that fully recommends their service! I love buying Magicjacks as presents and setting them up for friends and family. I have installed them on a lot of different computers and ISPs and never have an issue. A lot of the above mentioned are being used all over the world, like Irak, using regular old lap tops using mid grade ISP.
As far as you all comparing Skype to MagicJack is like comparing Mac's to PC's. They both work very well, and that is good for all of us. Just remember if we all liked Chocolate ice cream then we would not need Vanilla would we!
