LiveCareer complaints: how billing, cancellation and refunds work (checked October 11, 2026)
LiveCareer is a resume and cover letter builder. The Terms of Use (last updated August 25, 2026) say the contract is between BOLD LLC and the user, and that Auxiliant S.à r.l. “may additionally act in our contract as a merchant of record”, so a card statement can show a different name from the site name. The Terms say that once a subscription is active it “will automatically renew as described on the offer page until you terminate the contract”, that the “specific billing terms for the services you order will be described on the offer or checkout page”, and that you “will be again notified of the billing terms and how to stop recurring billing on your transaction receipt”.
What the pricing page showed. The pricing page for the United States region, opened on October 11, 2026, listed a free plan limited to TXT downloads, a “14-Day Premium Access” plan at $2.95 that “auto-renews at $23.95, billed every four weeks”, and an annual plan of $71.40 that is “billed annually” and “auto-renews each year”. Both paid plans carry the line “Not satisfied in 14 days? Get a refund”. The pricing-page FAQ describes the 14-day plan as “a 14-day trial with a money-back guarantee within those 14 days” that, if not canceled, “renews to a monthly subscription of $23.95”, and says “you will be billed every four weeks from the date of your initial purchase”; the page therefore calls the renewal “monthly” while stating a four-week billing interval. Terms section 9 says “The subscription fee is charged in advance, at the end of each billing period.” Check the amount and renewal period on the checkout screen you are shown before paying.
How to cancel. The sources name several routes, listed here as the company states them:
- Pricing page: “Cancel any time online, by email or call us toll-free at 800-652-8430”, with the email [email protected].
- Terms of Use highlights: “You may cancel or sometimes suspend your subscription at any time by going to the home page under My Accounts and My Settings.”
- Terms of Use section 10: “You may cancel your subscription anytime by contacting our customer service department or by going to the online cancel page under your settings page. Provider will send an email with a cancellation number to confirm any cancellation request.” If you do not receive the confirmation, the Terms say to contact customer service directly.
- FAQ page: sign in, hover over your profile name, open “Settings” and select “Subscription”, where the page says you will find the phone number and email address to contact; it also says to “contact the customer support team in your region or have a live chat”.
Keep the cancellation confirmation number or email, and the date and time of any call.
Refunds. Terms section 10 says: “You may request a refund if notice of cancellation of your subscription is provided before the end of the initial period, if the initial period is offered.” The Terms highlights say “Provider does not guarantee refunds”, and the FAQ says “LiveCareer cannot guarantee a refund in all cases”. The pricing page says “Not satisfied in 14 days? Get a refund” and its FAQ says “a 14-day trial with a money-back guarantee within those 14 days”. These statements sit on different pages and are quoted side by side; the checkout screen and receipt for your order show which terms apply to you.
If a charge is disputed. Contact customer service first (800-652-8430 or [email protected]). For card charges, the FTC’s page on disputing credit card charges says to write to the issuer so that the letter “reaches the issuer within 60 days after the first bill with the error was sent to you”; the issuer must acknowledge within 30 days and resolve the dispute within 90 days. You can also report to the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov, to your state attorney general, and file a complaint with the BBB.
The Terms contain a binding arbitration clause with a class action waiver; section 24(e) says you may opt out by written notice to BOLD LLC at its Guaynabo, Puerto Rico address “within thirty (30) days of your first agreeing to these Terms”.
Who operates LiveCareer
The LiveCareer Terms of Use (last updated August 25, 2026) describe the contract as one between BOLD LLC (registry number shown as 352385) and each user, with Auxiliant S.à r.l. (B199343) possibly acting as merchant of record; section 23 applies New York law to transactions processed by BOLD LLC and Luxembourg law to transactions processed by Auxiliant, and then adds: “If you are a U.S. resident” the Terms “shall be governed by the Federal Arbitration Act” and “The substantive law of the State of New York (excluding its conflicts of law provisions) shall apply to all disputes and these Terms.” The same Terms say “The Site, and all intellectual property thereunder, is owned by Bold Limited”, and the site footer reads “© 2026, Bold Limited”. The Privacy Policy (last updated June 18, 2026) says BOLD LLC, City View Plaza II, Suite 6000, 48 Road 165, Guaynabo, Puerto Rico 00968, is the data controller. Terms section 29 says comments or complaints may be sent to [email protected], or written to BOLD LLC at the same Guaynabo address, “or to Auxiliant S.à.r.l, 1A, rue Thomas Edison, L-1445 Strassen, Luxembourg”; the Terms do not say which address applies to a given charge, so check the merchant name on the statement.
The BBB profile for Bold LLC (Guaynabo, PR), as displayed on October 11, 2026, describes the business as “an internet company offering online products, tools, guidance, and support to job seekers, careers and workplaces” and lists, under alternate names, Livecareer.com together with several other consumer brands (including Myperfectresume.com, Zety, JobHero, ResumeBuilder.com, FlexJobs and Sonara). Those other names come from BBB’s listing; the LiveCareer Terms and Privacy Policy do not name them. Posts and reviews about those brands are not part of this page unless they name LiveCareer.
Products described on the pricing and FAQ pages include the resume builder, cover letter generator, ResumeCheck, resume templates and examples, job boards and a Bold.pro professional profile; the Terms also mention optional services such as resume review and resume writing.
LiveCareer complaint record: BBB, Trustpilot and archive posts
BBB. The BBB profile that lists Livecareer.com is filed under the name Bold LLC (Guaynabo, PR) and covers several brands, so its figures are not LiveCareer-only. As displayed on October 11, 2026: rating A+, BBB Accredited (raw page data: accredited 2021-09-22; file opened 2018-01-03; business start 2015-04-14; incorporated 2015-04-14), “248 total complaints in the last 3 years” with 74 filed in the last 12 months, and customer reviews shown as 1 out of 5 on an average of 70 reviews. BBB states that it does not verify the accuracy of information provided by third parties.
Trustpilot. As displayed on October 11, 2026, the profile “Livecareer - Online Resume Builder” (www.livecareer.com) showed 4.3 out of 5 from 24,207 reviews; Trustpilot labels it a claimed profile (May 2016) with a paid Trustpilot subscription, shows the note “This company invites their customers to review, whether positive or negative” and says it does not fact-check reviews. The two platforms use different methods and are not combined here.
Complaints in this archive. The site holds 32 approved posts dated 2011 to 2013 that name LiveCareer, LiveCareer, Ltd or its billing descriptor (30 of them name it as the subject; 2 name it next to another site name). They describe a low-cost trial or one-time fee followed by a larger monthly charge, and were written under the 2011–2013 terms, not the current ones. Keyword counts across those 32 posts (a post can match several): trial or introductory fee mentioned in 26, repeat or monthly charge in 26, cancellation in 15, refund in 9, charge described as unauthorized in 4. These are consumers’ allegations and are not combined with the BBB or Trustpilot figures.
Court and regulator record for LiveCareer
In the sources checked on October 11, 2026, no government enforcement action naming LiveCareer, BOLD LLC or Bold Limited as a defendant was identified, and no consumer class action naming them was found in the federal dockets searched on CourtListener (case-name searches for “Bold Limited”, “Bold LLC” and “livecareer”). State courts were not searched by this site. The FTC case library search could not be completed, so the absence of an FTC matter is not established. Unrelated companies with a similar name (for example Bold Technologies and LiveCare Health) appeared in the results and are not discussed.
Consumer case reported by a litigant. A page published by Rocket Resume, Inc. (the plaintiff in the federal case below; rocket-resume.com, opened October 11, 2026) reports a consumer class action, Rauf v. Bold LLC, No. 26CU019871C (Cal. Super. Ct., San Diego County, filed April 9, 2026), and says its complaint alleges automatic-renewal violations under California law. This site did not open the San Diego court record, so the case’s existence, claims and status are not confirmed here; the description is Rocket Resume’s, and any allegations are not findings.
Two commercial cases between competing businesses. Both are disputes between businesses, not consumer cases.
- Rocket Resume, Inc. v. BOLD Limited (N.D. Cal. No. 5:26-cv-02852, filed April 2, 2026): a competing resume business sued; the docket parties tab lists BOLD Holdings LLC, BOLD Limited and BOLD LLC as defendants, and docket entry 31 adds three individuals. The docket lists the cause as antitrust litigation. On June 18, 2026 the defendants’ side filed a motion to dismiss (docket entry 36, with a supporting declaration); the docket lists an opposition on July 20 and a reply on August 10, 2026, and shows no ruling as of October 11, 2026. The docket text does not state the motion’s grounds. The claims are the plaintiff’s allegations.
- Bold Limited v. Rocket Resume, Inc. (N.D. Cal. No. 5:22-cv-01045, filed February 18, 2022): the docket lists the cause as copyright infringement, with Bold Limited as plaintiff. It shows a June 22, 2023 order granting in part and denying in part a motion to dismiss and a motion to compel arbitration. A stipulation to dismiss filed by Bold LLC and Bold Limited was approved by order on September 24, 2025, and the case was terminated on September 25, 2025; the terms are not stated on the docket page.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I cancel a LiveCareer subscription?
The pricing page says to cancel online, by email to [email protected] or by calling toll-free 800-652-8430. The Terms of Use add the online cancel page under the settings page and say an email with a cancellation number is sent to confirm; the FAQ points to Settings, then Subscription. Keep the confirmation number.
Who operates LiveCareer?
The Terms of Use name BOLD LLC (registry number 352385) as the contracting party, with Auxiliant S.à r.l. possibly acting as merchant of record, and say the site’s intellectual property is owned by Bold Limited. The Privacy Policy gives BOLD LLC’s address as City View Plaza II, Suite 6000, 48 Road 165, Guaynabo, Puerto Rico 00968.
Why might the charge on my card show a different name?
The Terms say Auxiliant S.à r.l. “may additionally act in our contract as a merchant of record”, so the merchant name on a statement can differ from LiveCareer. Several archive posts from 2013 quote a statement line reading “LiveCareer Recurring” followed by another brand name; the LiveCareer Terms and Privacy Policy do not explain that descriptor.
Does a LiveCareer trial renew automatically?
The United States pricing page displayed on October 11, 2026 says the $2.95 14-day premium access plan “auto-renews at $23.95, billed every four weeks” and the $71.40 annual plan “auto-renews each year”; its FAQ calls the renewal “a monthly subscription of $23.95” billed “every four weeks from the date of your initial purchase”. The Terms say an active subscription “will automatically renew as described on the offer page until you terminate the contract”. Read the checkout screen for the terms shown to you.
Can I get a refund from LiveCareer?
Terms section 10 says you “may request a refund if notice of cancellation of your subscription is provided before the end of the initial period, if the initial period is offered”; the Terms highlights say “Provider does not guarantee refunds”, and the pricing page says “Not satisfied in 14 days? Get a refund” and its FAQ says “a 14-day trial with a money-back guarantee within those 14 days”. Request it through customer service and keep the reply.
How do I contact LiveCareer customer service?
The Contact Us page lists 800-652-8430 for the United States and Canada (Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-8 p.m. CST, Saturday 8 a.m.-5 p.m. CST, Sunday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. CST), the email [email protected], a contact form and live chat.
What does BBB show for LiveCareer?
BBB lists Livecareer.com among the alternate names on its Bold LLC profile (Guaynabo, PR), shown on October 11, 2026 as BBB Accredited with an A+ rating, 248 complaints in the last 3 years (74 in the last 12 months) and an average customer review of 1 out of 5 from 70 reviews. The profile covers several brands, so the numbers are not LiveCareer-only.
Is there a lawsuit against LiveCareer?
In the sources checked on October 11, 2026, no government enforcement action was identified and no consumer class action naming LiveCareer, BOLD LLC or Bold Limited was found in the federal dockets searched on CourtListener; state courts were not searched and the FTC case library search could not be completed. Rocket Resume, Inc., a competing business, has a pending case in the Northern District of California (No. 5:26-cv-02852) against BOLD Holdings LLC, BOLD Limited and BOLD LLC, and a copyright case brought by Bold Limited against Rocket Resume (No. 5:22-cv-01045) ended by stipulated dismissal in September 2025; both are disputes between businesses. Rocket Resume’s own case page reports a California state-court consumer class action, Rauf v. Bold LLC, which this site has not confirmed on a court record.
How do I dispute a LiveCareer charge with my card issuer?
The FTC says to write to the card issuer at its billing-inquiry address so the letter reaches it within 60 days after the first bill containing the error; the issuer must acknowledge in writing within 30 days and resolve the dispute within 90 days. Contact LiveCareer customer service as well and keep its reply.
