MyPerfectResume

MyPerfectResume (myperfectresume.com) is an online resume, cover letter and CV builder. Its Terms of Use name BOLD LLC of Guaynabo, Puerto Rico as the contracting provider and Auxiliant S.à.r.l of Luxembourg as a possible merchant of record. The pricing page lists a $2.95 14-day premium access that auto-renews at $23.95 every 4 weeks, and trial-to-subscription billing, cancellation and refunds are the main subject of the BBB, ComplaintsBoard and archive complaints. This page sets out the company's own cancellation and refund wording, the records as displayed on October 11, 2026, and a competitor's pending antitrust suit that names its owners.

MyPerfectResume subscriptions: cancel, refund and billing steps (checked October 11, 2026)

Who bills you. The Terms of Use (last updated April 30, 2026) say the contract is between BOLD LLC and the user, and that Auxiliant S.à.r.l "may additionally act in our contract as a merchant of record". The Contact page says "MYPERFECTRESUME.COM or MYPERFECTRESUME or BLD*MYPERFECTRESUME are the billing descriptors that may appear on your bank statement."

What the paid plans are, per the company. The pricing page (U.S. render read on October 11, 2026) lists a free "Basic Access" plan, "14-Day Premium Access" at $2.95 ("After 14 days, auto-renews at $23.95 billed every 4 weeks. Cancel anytime.") and "1-Year Premium Access" at $7.95 per month ("Pay $95.40 up-front ... Automatically renews each year. Cancel anytime."). Offers and amounts vary by date and country: the same page opened from Latvia showed euro prices. In its 2026 replies to BBB complaints the company quoted its checkout wording for earlier sign-ups as "you agree to be charged USD 9.95 now" (a June 24, 2026 sign-up) and "you agree to be charged USD 2.25 now" (an October 15, 2025 sign-up), while the consumers wrote that they had paid $2.95 or $2.25; these are the company's quotations of its own checkout page, not the current pricing page.

How to cancel, per the Terms. Section 10: "You may cancel your subscription anytime by contacting our customer service department or by going to the online cancel page under your settings page. Provider will send an email with a cancellation number to confirm any cancellation request. If you do not receive this confirmation and still wish to cancel, please contact our customer service department directly for further assistance." The Terms highlights name the route "home page under My Accounts and My Settings". Contact options on the Contact page: chat, a message form, and phone 855-213-0348 (U.S. hours, Central time: Mon-Fri 8am-8pm, Sat 8am-5pm, Sun 10am-6pm). Keep the cancellation number or confirmation email.

Billing notices, price changes and card updates, per the Terms. Section 9: "You will be again notified of the billing terms and how to stop recurring billing on your transaction receipt." The Terms highlights say: "In case there is a price change you will be notified in advance and provided a period of time to manage your subscription." Several BBB reviewers say they received no email before a renewal charge; look in your inbox and spam folder for the purchase receipt and confirmation email that the Terms and the company's BBB replies describe. Section 9 also says that card issuers "may automatically notify us of any updates in your credit card and provide us the updated card details" (the Terms add that this service is not controlled by the Provider and the card issuer is solely responsible), and that if a payment method does not process, "you authorize us to complete a partial payment of the available balance on your card" with the remainder charged "on a separate transaction either to the same card or any other card on file". Ask your card issuer whether it passes updated card numbers to merchants.

One-off downloads are a separate purchase. Section 9 says that "For un-scheduled purchases, such as individual resume downloads, prints or emails, when such purchases are available," the Provider charges the payment method on file "individually, at the time of purchase. Such individual transactions are final and therefore, if you want a new modified version of your downloaded, printed or emailed resume, it will require a separate purchase." The Terms thus describe single-download charges as final, which differs from the subscription refund wording quoted above.

Refunds: three company statements that differ. (1) Terms highlights: "Provider does not guarantee refunds." (2) Terms section 10: "You may request a refund if notice of cancellation of your subscription is provided before the end of the initial period, if the initial period is offered." (3) Pricing page: "Money-Back Guarantee: Request a refund within 14 days of subscribing to premium access to qualify." In replies to BBB complaints in 2026 the company wrote that its charges are "not refundable as stated in our Terms and Conditions" while describing refunds it issued as exceptions (see the complaint record below).

If you do not recognize a charge. The Contact page FAQ says to contact the company "by phone, email, or chat to verify and review your account details" and, if a subscription or cancellation email is missing, to check spam. For a card charge, the CFPB says to call the card company right away and send a written billing error notice within 60 calendar days after the charge appeared on the statement; the company then has 30 days to confirm it received the notice. You can also report a company to the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov (the FTC says it cannot resolve individual reports) and look up your state's consumer protection office through USA.gov.

Other terms worth reading before you pay. Section 24 sets individual arbitration with a class action waiver and a 30-day opt-out by written notice (see the FAQ). Section 8(C) says that "By completing your resume, you will be automatically included in the Provider Network resume database" (a network the Terms describe as including Monster.com and Careerbuilder.com), that "By proceeding, you agree to be bound by Monster's Terms and Privacy Policy", and that you "may opt-out of this dual registration during the sign-up process or via your account settings". It also says that cancelling a subscription does not unpublish a digital profile.

Who operates MyPerfectResume

Operator. Per the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, MyPerfectResume's site is operated by BOLD LLC (registration number 352385 as the Terms state it), City View Plaza II, 48 Road 165, Suite 6000, Guaynabo, Puerto Rico 00968, which is the data controller. Auxiliant S.à.r.l (B199343), 1A, rue Thomas Edison, L-1445 Strassen, Luxembourg, is named as the EU representative and as a possible merchant of record. The Terms also state "The Site, and all intellectual property thereunder, is owned by Bold Limited", and the page footer reads "Bold Limited. All rights reserved."

Products. The site offers a resume builder, cover letter generator, CV maker, an ATS resume checker, resume examples and templates, and a Bold.pro online profile; its About page says an AI feature called ExpertApply was added in 2025 to auto-fill job applications from a resume. The Terms (section 8) also describe resume posting, resume parsing, a digital resume profile and a "Provider Network" resume database that the Terms describe as "a network of affiliated properties and partner portals including Monster.com and Careerbuilder.com".

Company statements about itself. The About page says its founders began developing the idea in 2003, that it launched MyPerfectResume in the United States in 2012 and opened headquarters in Puerto Rico in 2015, and that it has helped create "56 Million+" resumes. These are company statements and are not independently verified here.

Relationship to other brands. The BBB file for Bold LLC lists a number of alternate names and websites, including Myperfectresume.com, so BBB counts for that file cover more than this site. In court filings in 2026 the defendants identified BOLD Holdings, LLC as the corporate parent of BOLD LLC and BOLD LLC as the corporate parent of BOLD Limited (see the litigation section). This profile covers only MyPerfectResume; other brands of the same group have their own profiles.

Complaint figures as displayed on October 11, 2026, and this site's posts

BBB (as displayed October 11, 2026). The BBB profile for Bold LLC, Guaynabo, PR, shows BBB Accredited with an A+ rating, "248 total complaints in the last 3 years" and "74 complaints filed in the last 12 months", and 1 out of 5 from an average of 70 customer reviews. The page data show the file opened January 3, 2018, business started and incorporated April 14, 2015, and accreditation since September 22, 2021. This single file lists Myperfectresume.com among several alternate names and websites, so the counts are not specific to MyPerfectResume.

Two complaint texts on the first BBB page name this site. A complaint dated August 25, 2026 (billing issues, status Resolved) says the consumer created a resume on myperfectresume.com, paid $2.95, cancelled before renewal and still saw charges of $9.95 and $23.95. The company's first reply (August 27, 2026) said it was unable to locate an account with the information provided and asked for the first six and last four digits of the card; the consumer rejected that reply on August 30, 2026, giving an account number and declining to share card details. The company's second reply (August 31, 2026) said its records show a sign-up on June 24, 2026, quoted the checkout wording ("you agree to be charged USD 9.95 now ... You will be billed ... after 14 days, and every 4 weeks after that until your subscription ends which you can cancel at any time"), said it found no cancellation request before the charges, and said that its charges are not refundable under its Terms but that it made an exception and refunded a charge; the consumer wrote that the resolution was satisfactory. A complaint dated July 31, 2026 (billing issues, Resolved) names "Bold LLC (MyPerfectResume)" and alleges nine months of charges after a $2.25 trial and no billing notifications; the company replied that its records show a sign-up on October 15, 2025, quoted its checkout wording ("you agree to be charged USD 2.25 now"), said it found no cancellation request, and said it had refunded six charges as an exception; the consumer accepted the resolution. A one-star review dated June 5, 2026 by a user who names myperfectresume says the renewal charge was not explicit after account creation and that a prorated refund was offered. Allegations in BBB complaints and reviews are the consumers' accounts; BBB does not verify them. The same BBB file also lists "Related Businesses: MCB Puerto Rico LLC" (a separate BBB profile) and several other alternate names, and some replies and reviews on it concern other brands; for example, one reply on the reviews tab is signed "FlexJobs". Counts and texts there therefore cover more than this site.

Trustpilot (as displayed October 11, 2026). 4.5 out of 5 from 19,547 reviews, 3,046 in the last 12 months; the page shows 80% 5-star, 11% 4-star, 2% 3-star, 1% 2-star and 6% 1-star. The profile is claimed (since May 2016) with a paid Trustpilot subscription, the company invites customers to review, and Trustpilot shows that it replied to 100% of negative reviews. Trustpilot says it does not fact-check reviews.

ComplaintsBoard (as displayed October 11, 2026). A claimed profile updated May 19, 2026 showing a 1.8 rating "based on reviews and complaints", from 2 reviews and 162 complaints. ComplaintsBoard does not verify submissions.

This site's archive. Five approved complaints on usacomplaints.com name My Perfect Resume (four from 2013 and one from 2015). Their writers describe paying about $2.95 to $3.95 to copy or print a resume described as free, a later charge of $34.95 or $46.44, and difficulty cancelling; they are reader accounts, not findings, and the amounts reflect the offers of that time, not the current pricing page. The BBB, Trustpilot and ComplaintsBoard figures above come from different systems and are not added together.

Court dockets involving the operators

CourtListener's RECAP archive (partial coverage; entries come from PACER and RECAP) was searched on October 11, 2026 by the party names "Bold LLC", "Bold Limited", "Bold Holdings" and "Auxiliant" and by the text "myperfectresume". The two federal dockets below involve this site's operators; both were brought by or against a competing resume company, not by consumers. A search of web results did not surface an FTC or state attorney general action naming MyPerfectResume or BOLD LLC; FTC.gov's own search pages returned unfiltered listings when queried, so check ftc.gov and your state attorney general directly.

Rocket Resume, Inc. v. BOLD Limited et al. (N.D. Cal., 5:26-cv-02852). Filed April 2, 2026 by Rocket Resume, Inc. against BOLD Limited, BOLD LLC, BOLD Holdings LLC and three named individuals. The complaint pleads Sherman Act section 2 monopolization (Count I), attempted monopolization (Count II), section 1 conspiracy (Count III) and California Business and Professions Code section 17200 unfair competition (Count IV); the docket lists the cause as antitrust litigation. Alongside its competition theories the complaint alleges that the defendants' sites "entice customers with 'free' resume-builders", charge "a nominal subscription fee to download the final formatted resume", then "charge customers a recurring charge of 10-20x this fee every four weeks" (paragraph 180) and that "BOLD intentionally makes cancellation difficult", and it quotes an online user about "My Perfect Resume". These are the plaintiff's allegations and have not been decided. The defendants moved to dismiss on June 18, 2026; their August 10, 2026 reply asks the court to "dismiss RR's Complaint in its entirety", and the docket sets the motion hearing for November 19, 2026 at 9:00 AM in San Jose before Judge Beth Labson Freeman. Rocket Resume filed its opposition on July 20, 2026. On August 17, 2026 the court denied a stipulation to postpone the initial case management conference; on August 19, 2026 it granted a revised stipulation as modified and set the initial case management conference for January 21, 2027. A notice of withdrawal of one Rocket Resume attorney was filed on September 17, 2026. No ruling on the motion to dismiss appeared on the docket text read on October 11, 2026. The case was reassigned to Judge Freeman on April 17, 2026; on April 10, 2026 Rocket Resume filed a notice regarding an administrative motion to consider whether cases should be related, and on April 20, 2026 the court terminated that administrative motion as moot (Justia docket entries 13 and 18).

Bold Limited v. Rocket Resume, Inc. (N.D. Cal., 5:22-cv-01045). Bold Limited (later with BOLD LLC) sued Rocket Resume and an individual in February 2022 for copyright infringement and unfair competition (the amended complaint added breach of contract), referring to its "MyPerfectResume" website; a June 5, 2024 order granted in part and denied in part the defendants' (Rocket Resume and Mr. Zimmerman's) motion for summary judgment; the case was then referred to a magistrate judge for settlement in May 2024 and stayed on July 16, 2024, and a stipulation to dismiss filed by Bold LLC and Bold Limited was approved on September 24, 2025, with the case terminated the next day. In April 2026 Rocket Resume asked the court to consider whether the closed 2022 case and its new 2026 suit were related; on April 20, 2026 the court terminated that motion as moot. The defendants' August 2026 reply in the later case refers to a "Binding Settlement Term Sheet" between the parties and says the settlement had "monetary and injunctive terms", which it does not set out; the term sheet itself was not read. This was a case the company filed, not a consumer claim.

Is MyPerfectResume Legitimate?

BOLD LLC is the contracting party named in the MyPerfectResume Terms of Use (registration number 352385 as the Terms state it; the Puerto Rico registry record was not independently opened). The Better Business Bureau profile for Bold LLC shows BBB Accredited status with an A+ rating as displayed on October 11, 2026, with the file opened January 3, 2018 and business started April 14, 2015 per the page data; BBB notes that ratings are not endorsements. The company publishes a U.S. customer phone line, chat and message form, a cancellation route in its Terms and a stated billing descriptor. The site's legal pages were last updated April 30, 2026 (Terms) and June 18, 2026 (Privacy Policy). Complaints about trial-to-subscription billing exist on BBB, ComplaintsBoard and in this site's archive (counts in the complaint section), and the company's stated position in its BBB replies is that renewal terms were disclosed at checkout and in confirmation emails; whether a particular charge was disclosed depends on that customer's checkout record.

The complaint pleads Sherman Act monopolization, attempted monopolization and conspiracy counts and a California section 17200 unfair competition count, and also alleges that the defendants' resume sites charge a nominal fee to download a resume and then a larger charge every four weeks while making cancellation difficult.
