GE heatpump fail

My church has four offices with through-the-wall heat pumps like you find in many hotels. They were quite old so I contracted to have them all replaced with new GE Zoneline AZ61H12DADU units. Long story short, GE has been out about twice a month replacing thermostats, control boards and other failures since last May and are scheduled again to come out this week (May 6). I now received a letter saying all the units are about to go out of the 1 year manufacturer's warranty even though they haven't managed to get them all installed and working yet. I called GE Warranty Management who said they only handle extended warranties and gave me another number to call (866-652-8905) option 2. After sitting on hold for 70 minutes listening to "Please Continue to Hold" every 10 seconds I gave up and called back to "Warranty Service" to see if they had another number. They said to call "Appliance Service". There I got through to someone who informed me that the warranty starts ticking down on the date of purchase, not on the date of installation completed. So my units still are not all working and now they are out of warranty. I guess we'll keep on having GE service come visit us regularly until it's done. They have to have lost their shirt with the number of service runs they have made and the number of parts swapped. One interesting bit the phone rep revealed was that the original parts are under a 1 year warranty but replacement parts are 5 years, which probably means that much of our systems are now on 5 year cycles. I'd still rather just have them done.
