My father and deceased mother (since 2004) had their car loan through CPS. CPS repo'd the car and sold it at auction in 1998. CPS started to garnish my dad's wages in 2009. He got court order to stop the wage garnishment due to financial hardship. They stopped after taking $1500 from them. This was more than what was owed. The wage garnishment started again and my father has paid more than $4000 and still owes another $1000. My dad works part time and with the wage garnishment -my sister has had to pay his rent for 3 months and there is no end in sight. There has never been any papework sent to my father the company had old address and phone number. When calling the company you are transferred to several departments then are told to contact their legal department at yet another department. Legal doesnt answer the phone which in turn you have to leave a message and they dont call you back. According to my fathers employer they received the court order to garish wages which again my father was told or advised - in writing or by phone.
