After a friend of mine's Jeep Commanders engine blew, I found a 5.7 liter Hemi on ebay for sale in Orlando which is a 2 hour drive from here so after messaging the seller he agreed to sell it outside of ebay so he wouldn't have to pay the fee's. On the original phone call Drew (the shyster) Bryant claimed that the engine came out of a Dodge Aspen that was totaled from rear end damage and that after the car was towed in he heard the engine running and pulled it out. Upon pulling it out his company then replaced all the seals and performed a 69 point engine inspection and put on a new oil filter and it was guaranteed and ready to go.
Upon arrival and speaking to Drew he boasted as to how succesful his business was after a year and that how stupid people were and how much money he could make on the general public and especially the kids who have wealthy parents that would pay any price he quoted them. And that he had moved 3 times now due to the companys growth.
He then showed my friend where the engine was and upon a visual inspection of the engine, a close friend of mine who is a master mechanic of numerous auto makers including Dodge/Jeep/Chrysler asked why the engine was on the ground when in the picture on ebay it was hoisted in the air with an engine lift. Drew had some lame explanation and left my friend to get it lifted into his truck by him and a couple of guys from the shop next door to have to physically lift up the motor them selves to load it up!!!
Before leaving the location Drew again assured my friend that this was a steal of a deal at $1200.00 because he normally sells them for $2600.00. So my friend drove back to Clearwater with the engine secured and "ready for install" upon his return.
After a week the engine was installed and made a lot of wierd noises and we called Drew. Drew assured us it must have not been installed correctly and to double check it. We also told Drew that if it was installed correctly and the oil pump did not fix the problem that we could have to return the engine and Drew responded that he would absolutely positively take it back should there be any issues.
So here we are today and have replaced numerous seals on the engine that had all the seals replaced allegedly, changed out the junky spark plugs that were in it and changed out the oil pump and the engine still has little to know oil pressure and sounds like total crap when running.
I called Drew back today and he asked to talk to his mechanic since he stated he did not know anything about engines and that he was just the owner of the shop. After I got my mechanic on the phone with Drew and his mechanic basicly Drew started making accusations that there was no way that he could be assured it was the same engine if we brought it back and that we didnt just drive it and blow the engine and every accusation under the sun to basically avoid letting us return it and left us high and dry with a useless engine for $1200.00.
After promissing him that she he take this route I would in fact do everything in my power to let the world know that he in fact was now not honoring his guarantee and that this entire transaction would be posted on the "usacomplaints.com"
So I am now sitting here after helping out a close friend of mine in a jam and another friend of mine helping out since he and I are such good friends and giving a good deal to take out a bad engine and re-install a good engine with 2 bad engines and a buddy who still doesn't have his Jeep back.
So for all of you out there that read this report please do your homework and should you choose to do business with this man make sure you read the fine print and do not take anything he says as he is a liar, a cheat, and has RIPPED ME OFF out of $1200.00!!!
Just another case of "BUYER BEWARE"... DREW BRYANT, you should be ashamed of yourself but know one thing... Karma is for real and someday, somehow you will get whats coming to you.
