I visited from Springfield, Illinois to Milwaukee, WI in June. There have been numerous difficulties with the trip, but listed here is my primary criticism:

Throughout The practice part of our trip, I visited the dining-car with two different friends. I bought yogurt along with a muffin, compensated having a bank card. I had beennot provided a bill, and did not want to request one since I have was INFORMED the cost could be for approximately $6.50. I also bought a water, individually, with money.

After I reached my space that night, I examined my banking account to confirm the total amount I'd have for buying the following night. To my shock I observed a $65 deal in the Amtrak Restaurant! I had been surprised. I'd bought my solution greater than a month before, and hadnot billed other things at/on Amtrak that evening, and so I understood the cost had to become for my muffin.

I called Amtrak 24 hours later, and was moved in one division to a different. I eventually got an individual who may help, and was informed some BS tale about how they do not manage discounts there, but she'd forward my criticism for their reimbursement division, and find out what they said. She named me back 24 hours later and stated that these were likely to consider it, which it might occupy to 20 TIMES to obtain my reimbursement. Observe that it was a bank card deal, therefore it was my money they had, not credit. I'd set a particular amount of cash into my consideration for this journey. As a result of this $65 cost, I wound up overdrafting. I had been billed nearly $70 in facility charges.

I approached my lender (Pursuit) and described the problem. These were good about this, and instantly returned all of the facility costs, and that I transferred a few of the money I'd available to create my bill back again to an optimistic stability. This destroyed all-but my crisis resources for my journey. I'd my spouse move cash from another consideration to ensure that I'd enough cash available to consume.

Two days after I delivered to Springfield, I obtained a phone at 8 AM telling me that Amtrak had no documents of the deal, and so could not return anything. They suggested I record it like a deceptive deal to my lender. I believed it was absurd, but adopted the CS representativeis (exactly the same one I'd handled right from the start) recommendation and documented the deal through the Pursuit fraud division.

Today (July 31st), more than per month past after I documented this to Pursuit, and nearly 8 weeks because the unique problem, I had been educated by Pursuit that Amtrak supplied paperwork showing this wasn't a fake charge. Evidently it is only scam in the event that you never experienced any contact what-so-actually using the vendor. This the EXACTLY THE SAME paperwork they 'could not find' that essential me to record the state as scam within the first-place

I am mad. The way the HECK did I get charged $65 to get a MUFFIN, and just why cannot I obtain a reimbursement?!
