Eds auto sales
Fake, dishonest, doing the bare minimum

I purchased a truck from ed's auto. I have been told that the previous owners were great. My experience with the new owner (Palo) was not even close to great. The service I received from both the salesman and the owner during the sale wasn't bad. All of the problems I had with the dealership was related to when i picked up the truck, and with the way things were handled with the warranty (60 day bumper to bumper).

During the sale one of the stipulations was that I would receive the truck with a full tank of gas. I was not able to pick it up during business hours, so we agreed the keys will be left for me to pick up the truck after hours. When i picked the truck up it had less than a half of a tank of gas. Which in a 27 gallons tank that equals about $50. I was not happy about this, but i sucked it up. A week later i brought the truck back because it failed the mass state inspection for lack of license plate lights, and both lower ball joints needed to be replaced. I dropped my truck off at night (and the truck felt fine), shortly before close, and was assured it would be fixed when i get there after work the following day (around 5:30pm). I called on the way, and was told to give them another hour to finish, which was not a big deal.

When I picked the truck up, the steering was awful. The steering was so bad. Where ever you turn the steering wheel it got stuck there, and had to be forced back. I also noticed that the truck was shifting very hard on the highway. I brought the truck to the service center that Palo said to bring it to. The service center advised me that the passenger side ball joint was done by Ed's auto (who has a body shop, but not a service bay). After Ed's auto broke the grease fittings on the passenger side, they decided to bring it to the service shop to have the drivers side done, but not fix the passenger side. When i picked the truck up for the second time the trucks steering was still just as bad, and the truck was not shifting any better (each trip to drop the truck off, and be picked up by my girlfriend is 100 miles each car). At this point I have dropped my truck off twice, for a very simple job of having the ball joints replaced, and now it is so much worse. I demanded a tank of gas since I am now bringing it back a 3rd time. Palo agreed.

I brought the truck to the service center, and gave them a list of what was still wrong with the truck, now including the battery keeps dying. I picked the truck up that day again with only a half of a tank of gas after agreeing on a full tank. The steering was fixed this time, but after driving it for a couple weeks after I decided the truck shifting is getting worse and worse. It was never fixed. I bring the truck back telling Palo that this is now the 3rd time i am bringing it back for the same problem (just like with the ball joints). I get a call to pick it up, and Palo tells me that he had 2 of "his transmission guys" looked at it, and didn't find anything wrong. Palo said I now have to bring it to a Ford dealership to have them diagnose the truck after i have already brought it to either Ed's or the service center that Palo instructs me to bring it to 3 times, and now I have to bring it to Ford to have them diagnose is. Palo instructed me thoroughly to only let Ford diagnose the problem, but not to allow them to fix it, because it will be too expensive. I would think on my forth trip for them same problem Palo would want to make sure his customer that has wasted so much of his time, his girlfriends time, gas, and miles on the two vehicles, to just finally be taken care of and happy... But no.

After Ford says that the torque converter, and filters need to be replaced, Palo again instructs me to just pick the truck up still not fixed from Ford, and "his transmission guy" that couldn't figure out the problem, will now be the one fixing what Ford figured out for them. I instructed Palo that i will bring the truck back on Thursday (this was on a Tuesday) and advised him of everything that was found by ford. When i dropped it off, Palo advised me that he was going to start making some calls to find the parts, and call me back in no more than 30 minutes. Palo had 2 days notice before i dropped the truck off to find the parts before i dropped it off. I never received a call, so i called back about 90 minutes later. His salesman told me he went home, and didn't find the part. He will locate it first thing Friday morning, and call me back. I never heard back.

I called back Saturday around 12 and was told Palo was at lunch. His salesman claims that he called Friday. I advised their was no voice mail, and no missed call on my phone. His salesman said the truck will not be ready until atleast Tuesday. I said that this is not acceptable. There was no need to have my truck for 5 days because they didn't order the part when they should have. I finally picked my truck up completely fixed on Tuesday, and on an empty tank again. I am so glad I do not have to deal with them again.
