I went to El Dorado Motors to get a newer vehicle, and also to build my credit. I completed all the paperwork and was told at first that I needed $108 down, but it later turned to $300. After I picked out the car I wanted, I left and came back 2 days later. At that time I was told that per my application the car that I picked out was not in my budget range, and then they showed me some very "cheap and old" cars. I inquired about what was it on my application that denied me from getting the newer, better car and was told that my landlord said, "It is extremely hard to collect the rent each month". I advised the salesperson that this is not correct.
I was told to go to the apartment complex and have someone to call and let the credit department know that the statement was not true. I went to my apartment complex and they called El Dorado Motors to correct the mistake that was made. I went back to El Dorado Motors and was told by the salesperson that "the Credit department have decided not to put you on the books at this time." I later found out that the apartment complex did not speak nor write that statement to El Dorado Motors. It was something that they said to avoid putting me in a newer, better vehicle.
