To Whom It May Concern,
I went to Saturn of Tyler even though I heard they weren't a reputable company but I thought well I should see for myself so I did I tried it. The lady I talked to on the phone seemed really nice and eager to work with me and get the deal done so I went for it.
I went for this green 2002 mustang that was there and I used my 97 chevrolet Cavalier as a trade in which they took as a $1000 dollars trade in, and that same day we signed the contracts and the sales lady got me in the car and I was off only one thing though, although I asked at least 4 times about where was my paper work to take with me I never got any. She just kept saying "oh we will mail it to you some time next week don't worry about it, you'll get everything next week". Well I never got the paper work in the mail so I began to wonder when my first payment would be due so I began calling for the sales lady to ask her so that I would be on top of everything.
Well apparently the lady quit or got fired so I called the guy the sales manager Mike Mcwhorter who is part of the finalizing process to ask him about it. He proceeded to tell me that he didn't know where the girl was but that I didn't have a bill because the deal fell threw with the finance company. Now the deal was what they call a straw purchase and that's where you put the car in someone elses name but it's for you and the bank calls the person's name on the deal and does like a questionaire to make sure everything is correct. Well during a straw purchase the salesman is supposed to tell you what the finance company wants to hear and the sales lady that I had only told me one thing to tell my grandmother who's name would have been on the papers so the contract fell threw because of the wrong information being said to the finance company because we weren't told what all to say.
Mike then told me he would see if he could re-submit the deal and get the finance company to requestion and he would call me back. A couple of days went by and he calls at almost 7:00pm at night and says I'm sorry to have to do this but you must bring the car back.in tears I ask can noone else take care of this or will I be able to get another car or anything. He then tells me he think he has another way he can go with the car come in asap. I went in the next morning and he told me he wasn't ready for me keep the car and he'll contact me later. He contacted me later through one of his new salesman saying as though he was talking about the car I had that he worked it out and got the price even lower but the catch was that it was a Saturn. I did not want a Saturn and argued with him that I didn't want the Saturn and finally he said ok.
I then told him to ask Mike McWhorter if he was going to give me my money back for my car because what I've been told is that my car is sold. Mike then tells the guy to tell me that he won't argue with me over the phone about the money for me to come in and talk to him and he will get me the money for my car. That money I was going to use as a down payment for another car from peltier. Well it was all a lie and a trick to get me up there in the car with the keys. I went up there 7-28-04 about 4:15pm and sat in the mans chair (Mike McWhorter) and took the keys off of my keychain and laid them on his desk. He came in took the keys and said ok bye. I looked at him and said what where's my check and he replied you don't get a check, this was a straw purchase you don't get nothing. Either you can get this car I have set up or I'll cancel it and that's it. He then make the stupid comment that your car was only worth a $100.00 dollars and that's all I sold it for, as if I was stupid so if you want a check that's all you're going to get. Remember we contracted out for $1000.
Non the less I get out of my chair and I go to call the guy from peltier to come and get me in one of his cars. I then try to call the Better Business Bureau and an Attorney but they were both closed. I then turn to the new salesman and say why did you tell me that I would get my money if I came up here if I wasn't going to? He told me look this is only my second day and that is what he told me and I told you so that is what he told me.
I turned to Mike Mcwhorter and said you better believe that I will be calling an attorney and the better business bureau tomorrow, he says whatever shut up and told them to call the police like they would be on his side as I began to walk toward the door in fury waiting for the guy from the other car lot to pull up. All the sales people in Saturn stop working to huddle inside as I stood out side.
I sorta seperated myself and stood inbetween the Wendy's and the car lot and I could see him instructing them to do things and again as he got in his car to ride off I screamed to him in rage and a few choice words that I was suing him and he better believe it, he backed up his car like he was going to do something but I stood firm. He pulled up and I just repeated again exactly what I said. He give me the thumbs up sign and rides off. I then went into wendy's to call a family member and the non emergency police number to see if they could help. As I was in there I could see the guy Mike outside waving his hands around instructing the man.
He then walks in while I'm on the phone with the police trying to say something and I instructed him to get out and leave me alone. He walks out and immediatly my guy from the other dealership pull up and they bomb rush him telling him that there's no use in him trying to help me they've already called all the finance companies they work with and told them not to finance anything on me (blackballing me) and he might as well forget it. I went over to tell my guy to meet me over at Wendy's and the second hand man to Mike speaks again and starts talking crazy, I told him this doesn't even have anything to do with you stay out of it and yet he continued to talk crazy as I walked off and then I really got angry, I told him that's alright I'm suing yalls and he just kept going cursing and all saying you better get a good lawyer, just as I talked to him as if he wasn't even in a professional or supposed to be professional setting.
The isssue hasn't been resolved as of today 7-29-04 but we will be fight it all the way because there is no way he will get something for nothing. They displayed very unprofessional attitudes from the lies all the way to the deception, from Mike McWhorter to the sloppy second hand man and the untrained young lady who first did the deal. I wrote this to warn everyone how big of liers they are and to never do a deal with them not to mention the car was a complete lemon but I didn't worry because it was under warranty and the deal was already closed or I thought and I didn't know the car was in a wreck previously and drove bad.
Please Be aware and don't let it happen to you, spread the word and feel free to call in or fax and tell them what a scum buckett company they are and anything you can do to pass it on or help please do.
My Friends and family and Co-Workers tried to warn me but I didn't listen so don't you do the same take heed.
