My wife and I recently purchased a 2004 Maxima from Team Nissan of Marietta. We were told the car had been through a full inspection and the car was free of any mechanical issues. We were also talked into the purchased of an extended warranty for $2000 by Dwight V-Parrish (Finance Manager), since we were buying a used car. Two weeks after our purchase, the top radiator hose blew out, so my wife and I brought the car in for repairs.
Shortly after the mechanics inspected the problem, we were then told that the front axle seals were leaking and needed to be replaced ASAP, even though an "inspection report" said the seals were checked and were fine. So I figured while they have the car, go ahead and lets file a claim to have the repairs done. Only to find, none of these issues are covered in our $2000 extended warranty.
So I went online and did some research and the warranty company (Western General Dealer Services) is all over complaint for not covering anything stated in the coverage plan. Team Nissan says that I am responsible for the repair costs because their mechanics get paid "extra" to find and fix issues and would have done so. I find it hard to believe that two weeks ago the seals were fine, and now they need to be replaced ASAP!
I was told by Michael Rios, a manager at Team Nissan that I wouldn't be compensated for any repairs and if I wanted to be compensated I should retain a lawyer. Now I went to Nissan because they are reputable, not a Buy Here Pay Here dealership. But I guess this is what car dealers have turned to; taking advantage of consumers to make an extra buck! Stay far away from these guys, and let me be your lesson learned. Team Nissan of Marietta Your Hard earned Dollar = Scr*wed with no Lube!
