This morning i stopped to fill tank of my 1969 VW bus. I still had some gas in the tank but not much.
Admittedly my gauge is inaccurate so i have to give the car a shake and listed. There was definitely fuel in the tank. Also this is proven by the fact that i drove (with full power) into the arco station. As i filled the tank i was shocked to see the meter clime over 10 gallons (the capacity of the tank is 10 GL).
Now i also should admit that the tank capacity of my VW and most cars is not accurate, but very close. This fact is irrelevant because i have run the tank dry (totally empty / car shut off) many time in the 40 year life of my VW and the absolute most fuel i have ever been able to squeeze into my 10 gallon tank was 11.2 gallons. Normally if i run dry it will take 10.8 GL.
TODAY AT ARCO in Anaheim (1700 w La Palma) MY 10 GALLON TANK TOOK 13.
