Tony advertises on Craigslist as a mobile mechanic. Tony (probably not his real name) came to my house to fix my car that continued to stall out. He said I needed a new head gasket, and that he needed a deposit of half up front to buy the head gasket and take the cylinder head to be resurfaced.
I gave him $200. He took my cylinder head and said he would be back the next day. He didn't return the next day. I called him. He said the head was cracked and that he would look for another one. I found a cylinder head right away and called Tony. Tony said that he could get one cheaper and told me to wait.
I waited a couple of days. No word from Tony. I called him again. He texted back and said that he used his money to fix his truck and said he needed me to give him more money. I said no. He said he would find a cylinder head. I asked him for the number of the shop where he had my cylinder head resurfaced. He said he didn't know the name or number and that I should look in the yellow pages.
Next day he refuses to answer his phone at all. Now Tony says that he can't find a cylinder head for my car, that they are extinct and that the $200 is his for his labor.
Tony took the cylinder head to my car and $200. I don't have a car that is driveable or money to fix it.
