My son had a check engine light and really rough idle on his car. We called Martino Tire and asked if they could diagnose the problem on the shops computer/analyzer. They charged us $100.00
We already had a code from our scanner that said multiple ignition misfire. The manager said he would pinpoint the exact problem.
They called and said we needed to replace the ignition module and that was the problem. We agreed to pay an additional $260.00 to have it installed.
We went to pick up the vehicle after they called and said it was running 100% better. So I asked is the car running on all six cylinders? The manager said yes.
We arrived early to find the mechanic had a mess of engine coolant all under the car. We asked what happened and he said no big deal he just opened the radiator cap hot and the fluid spilled out. It was a lot of fluid. He said he would refill the fluid and all would be well. I asked to speak to the mechanic that actually worked on the module installation. He said that the car still had a problem on cylinder # 5 and not at all running 100% They insisted they did the job and had to be paid. Well we did pay and are really sorry we did.
After paying them Approx $400.00 the car is still missfiring and when we got it home noticed a very bad oil leak all of a sudden.
Do not take your car for anything more than maybe a tire change. These guys are parts changers and don't have the tools or experience of a real diagnostic shop.
